Real Madrid 2-0 Espanyol: Militao and Mbappé guide the Whites to their 5th consecutive victory

For Real Madrid, two shots from medium distance were enough to secure their fifth consecutive victory in LaLiga. Éder Militao, in the 22nd minute, and Kylian Mbappé, in the 47th minute, surprised goalkeeper Dmitrovic with two blasts, the second benefiting from a slight deflection off an opponent.

With the goal against Espanyol, Mbappé remains the leader in the top scorer standings, with 5. Further back are Raphinha and seven other players with 3 goals. The team that can't get their head up and remains sunk at the bottom is Girona. Earlier on Saturday, Míchel's team was crushed at Montilivi by Levante (0-4).

Again, the 'rojiblanca' defense leaked with the expulsions of Axel Witsel and Vitor Reis, in the 30th and 46th minutes. Etta Eyong opened the scoring for the 'granotas' in the 43rd minute and, in the second half, Carlos Álvarez, Iván Romero and Goduine Koyalipou closed the rout, already with only nine Girona rivals on the field.
