LaLiga denounces chants against Barcelona by Mallorca fans: what happened?
Controversy in Son Moix: LaLiga denounces chants against Barça by the local fans. All the information
LaLiga EA Sports 2025/26 has kicked off and, beyond the sporting spectacle that it entails, the controversial and non-sporting situations that tarnish the development of the competition have also returned. This Wednesday, the league has issued the complaints from the matches of the first matchday of the First Division.
Among them, a report related to the match between RCD Mallorca and FC Barcelona in Son Moix stands out, resolved with a resounding 0-3 in favor of the 'culés', but it was not without controversy. According to the document issued by the league, two negative moments were recorded during the first half of the match.
Official LaLiga report details offensive chants against FC Barcelona: what does it say?
The report begins by stating: "According to the information provided to this National Professional Football League by the official representative at the match, called the Match Director, as well as other information channels in relation to the detection of behaviors related to violence, racism, xenophobia and intolerance in sports, once the information and the appropriate graphic and audiovisual documents of the aforementioned match have been analyzed, the following facts are recorded."
In this sense, the text details that: "In the 41st minute, a group of local fans, located in the Grada Lluís Sitjar of the South End, led by a member with a microphone, chanted in a choral and coordinated manner for approximately 8 seconds the chant 'Olele, olalá, being a Barça fan is being a subnormal'."
In turn, it adds that: "In the same minute, the same sector of the stands, also in a choral manner, chanted for approximately 10 seconds the chant 'Puta Barça, puta Barça eh'."
LaLiga report: offensive chants were isolated incidents
Finally, the report emphasizes that these incidents were isolated and do not reflect the general behavior of the local fans. According to the document: "It should be especially noted that the aforementioned events have occurred only from the described area, with the rest of the local fans present in the stadium maintaining appropriate behavior."
The question that remains in the air is whether RCD Mallorca will receive any sanction for these offensive chants by a sector of its fans. For now, there is no official confirmation, although it seems evident that this type of behavior does not contribute anything positive to the game.
