Calendar of FC Barcelona

FC Barcelona returned to the top of LaLiga EA Sports 2025/26 for the first time since matchday 8 thanks to a thrashing against Athletic Club (4-0). On their return to Spotify Camp Nou, the Catalans scored at strategic moments, before and at the end of each half, to reach 31 points, the same as Real Madrid

Barça, however, is the leader thanks to goal difference (+21), awaiting what happens on Sunday with Madrid's visit to Elche (9:00 PM). The Catalan team has scored 36 goals in 13 matchdays, ten more than the 'merengue' team. With the defeat, the Basques fall to eighth place, still with 17 points.

909 days after the last match at Camp Nou, Barça resolved the game with goals from Robert Lewandowski, Ferran Torres (brace), and Fermín López. Lamine Yamal, for his part, provided two assists at the end of the first and second halves, both capitalized by the 'Shark'.

Barça celebrated their return to the Spotify Camp Nou in style

Barça's victory reflected the flow of the match. Athletic was dominated from start to finish and, within 4 minutes, was already trailing due to a goal by Lewandowski following a good finish by the 'number 9' and a mistake by the Basques playing out from the back.

Ferran, just before halftime, capitalized on an assist from Lamine with the outside of his left boot to beat Unai Simón in a one-on-one. The Spanish goalkeeper could have done more on the first two culé goals, but his team offered little resistance at the back.

Fermín, in the 49th minute, scored the third, exploiting another error by the visitors playing out and an excellent through ball from Eric García. Then in the 90th minute, Lamine orchestrated a sensational play in midfield, leaving four rivals behind before delivering a pass that once again left Ferran alone in front of Simón. VAR confirmed the onside position of the 'number 7', who takes the sole lead as the team's top scorer with 9 goals.
