LaLiga Standings 24/25: Barcelona are champions with 2 matchdays to play!

FC Barcelona is the champion of LaLiga EA Sports 2024-25 on matchday 36!. The 'azulgrana' team defeated Espanyol in Cornellà (0-2) and, for the 28th time in its history, takes the trophy of the Spanish First Division.

Thanks to their victory in the Catalan derby, Barça reached 85 points, 7 more than Real Madrid with only two matches to play. This difference, in addition to the advantage in the direct confrontation, seals the 'culés' title.

Thus, Barça (85) seals the championship with a lead of seven points over Real Madrid, located in the second position of LaLiga with 78 points.

Hansi Flick's team managed to take a victory from Cornellà thanks to goals from Lamine Yamal and Fermín López, both in the second half (0-2). The first, scored by the '19', was a brutal goal, with one of his usual blasts from outside the area.

Atlético de Madrid, meanwhile, remains third with 70 points, 15 units below the Catalans and five behind Madrid. The 'colchoneros' fell on matchday 36 against Osasuma (2-0) and run the risk of losing third place.

Athletic Club remains 4th and is now closer to Atlético (only 3 points), while Villarreal (5th) and Betis (6th) complete the qualifying places for European competitions.
