LaLiga EA Sports 2025/26 has a new leader in matchday 14. FC Barcelona regained the sole top spot in the tournament with 34 points, one more than Real Madrid (33). The draw by Xabi Alonso's team in Montilivi against Girona (1-1) left the 'merengues' in second place, now followed by Villarreal (32) and Atlético (31)

Madrid drew against Míchel's team, who took the lead in the 45th minute thanks to a great goal from Azzedine Ounahi. Kylian Mbappé equalized from the penalty spot in the 66th minute, and the 'Merengues' wasted several clear opportunities in the final stretch to suffer their third consecutive setback.

On Saturday, Barça had seized the lead thanks to their third consecutive victory, this time against Alavés (3-1). A goal from Lamine Yamal and a brace from Dani Olmo sealed the Catalan team's comeback, after Pablo Ibáñez's early goal in the 1st minute.

LaLiga's standings, in this way, change leaders on matchday 14, although the fight for first place is on fire. This week, two rescheduled matches from J19 will be played (due to the Spanish Super Cup). Barça will host Atlético on Tuesday and Athletic will do the same with Real Madrid a day later.
