Barça won again in LaLiga against Elche (3-1), a result that allows Hansi Flick's team to regain second place in the standings with 25 points, 5 less than Real Madrid

The LaLiga EA Sports 2025/26 standings keep FC Barcelona in second place, 5 points behind leaders Real Madrid. The Blaugrana team beat Elche (3-1) at Montjuïc with goals from Lamine Yamal, Ferran Torres and Marcus Rashford.

Rafa Mir scored for the Elche side before the break, but the match was decided from the 12th minute thanks to goals scored by the '10' and the 'Shark'. In the second half, 'Rashy' made it three to seal a victory that could have been greater, if not for the saves of Iñaki Peña and some mistakes by the Englishman.

With the victory, Hansi Flick's team reaches 25 points, 5 less than Madrid, but 2 more than Villarreal (23). Atlético, meanwhile, remains fourth, now escorted by Betis. Espanyol, despite falling to Alavés, remains fifth.

Real Madrid did their homework against a weak Valencia

On Saturday, at the Santiago Bernabéu, the 'merengue' team had no problems defeating Valencia (4-0). A brace from Kylian Mbappé and another goal from Jude Bellingham completely decided the match before halftime. The Whites, in the first half, enjoyed two penalties in their favor. In the second half, Álvaro Carreras closed the scoring.

With the victory, Madrid has 30 points, 5 more than Barça. Further back are Villarreal and Atlético de Madrid, with 23 and 22 points, respectively, closing out the top of the table.

Before Real Madrid's rout, Villarreal and Atlético did the same at home to put pressure on Barça. The 'Yellow Submarine' surpassed the culé team in the table with an overwhelming victory against Rayo (4-0). Gerard Moreno, Alberto Moleiro, Santi Comesaña, and Ayoze Pérez scored the goals for the Castellón victory.

The 'Aleti', meanwhile, saw off Sevilla with 3 goals in the second half (3-0). Julián Álvarez, Thiago Almada, and Antoine Griezmann scored the goals that allow the 'colchoneros' to reach 22 points. On Saturday there was also a victory for Real Sociedad in the Basque derby (3-2), while on Friday the matchday kicked off with Getafe defeating Girona (2-1).

For now, 'Geta' is sixth with 17 points, while Míchel's team remains at the bottom. Real Sociedad, on the other hand, breathes and rises to 13th place, while Athletic continues in free fall and is now tenth. On Sunday, in addition to Barça-Elche, Celta defeated Levante (1-2) and Alavés did the same against Espanyol (2-1). The matchday closes on Monday with Oviedo-Osasuna.
