Barça remains leader in LaLiga 25/26 with 6 points in 2 matchdays after their epic comeback against Levante (2-3)
Hansi Flick's FC Barcelona maintains the lead in LaLiga EA Sports 2025/26 on matchday 2, thanks to a dramatic victory, with controversy, epicness, and a comeback included, at Levante's ground (2-3).
Barça went into halftime down by two goals after goals from Iván Romero and José Morales, the latter from a penalty after a non-existent handball by Alejando Balde inside the area. Referee Alejandro Hernández and VAR official Jorge Figueroa awarded the penalty after reviewing the play in added time.
In the second half, Hansi Flick's team reacted with a great goal from Pedri in the 49th minute. Three minutes later, Ferran Torres made it 2-2, and in the 90+1st minute, a 'poisoned' cross from Lamine Yamal ended in an own goal by Unai Elgezabal to seal the comeback.
Thus, Barça is the only team with a perfect score in the tournament (6 points out of 6 possible), pending what happens in the rest of the matchday between Sunday and Monday.

Atlético still hasn't taken off in LaLiga 25/26

Matchday 2 began on Friday with Betis's victory against Alavés (1-0). A goal from Giovani Lo Celso allowed the 'Verdiblancos' to add their first victory, bringing them to 4 points. The Vitoria team, on the other hand, remains with 3 points after defeating Levante last week.
On Saturday, early in the day, Mallorca and Celta drew at Son Moix (1-1), marking the first point for both teams. The same happened with Atlético de Madrid, who barely salvaged a draw at home against Elche (1-1).
The Elche team started losing with a goal from Alexander Sorloth in the 8th minute, but quickly equalized thanks to Rafa Mir when only fifteen minutes had passed. Despite their huge investment in reinforcements, the 'Colchoneros' have not yet won in the tournament, as they fell to Espanyol (2-1) on matchday 1.
Elche, on their part, has two draws (Betis and Atlético). The Saturday matchday closed with Barça's comeback against Levante (2-3). Hansi Flick's team maintains a perfect record and has scored 5 goals in two matches, in addition to extending their unbeaten run away from home this 2025.
Only Getafe (1-1) in January was able to avoid falling on their field against the 'Culés', whose balance is 9 wins and 1 draw on the road in 10 appearances this year. The total unbeaten run is 13 matches, counting the last 3 outings of 2024 (1 win and 2 draws).
This Sunday, matchday 2 continues with the matches Osasuna-Valencia, Real Sociedad-Espanyol, Villarreal-Girona, and the visit of Real Madrid to the newly promoted Real Oviedo. On Monday, the date closes with Athletic hosting Rayo and Sevilla doing the same with Getafe.
