With 31 goals, Mbappé now has a 6-goal lead over Lewandowski on matchday 38 of LaLiga. This is how the fight for the Pichichi is going!

Calendar of FC Barcelona

On matchday 38 of LaLiga 24-25, the top scorer list is still led by Kylian Mbappé of Real Madrid, with 31 goals and a 6-goal lead over Robert Lewandowski of FC Barcelona (25).

The '9' of Madrid scored the two goals for the 'Casa Blanca' in the victory against Real Sociedad (2-0). With this, he practically sealed the fight for the Pichichi, waiting to see what happens on Sunday in the Athletic-Barça match.

Robert Lewandowski, meanwhile, is second with 25 goals, after failing to score against Espanyol and Villarreal despite starting in both matches. The Polish player is also one goal away from his scoring century with the culés.

The Pichichi of LaLiga, a consolation prize for Mbappé

Mbappé has scored 9 goals in his last 5 matches to take the lead in the scoring charts. The Frenchman scored 2 against Celta, 3 against Barça, 1 against Mallorca and another against Sevilla, in addition to his brace on matchday 38.

Thus, the LaLiga EA Sports 2024/25 top scorer list keeps Kylian Mbappé as leader (31), now with 6 goals ahead of Robert Lewandowski (25).

The '9' of Barça has lost his advantage after being absent in the duels against Mallorca, Valladolid and Real Madrid. For Mbappé, the Pichichi will be a consolation prize, after a first season without major titles with the 'Casa Blanca'.

The Frenchman had to settle for two minor trophies (the European Super Cup and the Intercontinental Cup), while Barça swept in Spain with the domestic treble (League, Cup and Super Cup).

Kylian Mbappé is heading towards the Golden Boot with another penalty

Now, 'Kiki' is also the leader in the fight for the Golden Boot, waiting to see what Mohamed Salah does this Sunday against Crystal Palace.

Thanks to his two goals against Real Sociedad (one of them from a controversial penalty), Mbappé surpassed Viktor Gyökeres, who closed 24/25 with 39 goals in the Portuguese league. However, the Swede only added 1.5 points per goal, unlike the five major leagues, which award 2 points per goal.

Kylian, author of 7 penalties in LaLiga, now has 62 points, 3.5 more than Gyökeres. The only one with options to reach him is Salah, who is currently the Pichichi of the Premier League with 28 goals (57 points).

In that sense, the Egyptian is forced to score a 'poker' against Crystal Palace to surpass the Bondy player, who seeks to become the third Madrid player to win the Golden Boot, after Hugo Sánchez and Cristiano Ronaldo (the Portuguese won it three times).
