Lamine Yamal closed out 2025 celebrating his ninth goal of the season with Barça. Against Villarreal, the '10' scored the definitive 0-2 for Hansi Flick's team and now has 7 goals in LaLiga
FC Barcelona closed out 2025 with another victory, their eighth consecutive in LaLiga EA Sports, this time away from home against Villarreal (0-2). Raphinha and Lamine Yamal scored the goals for the Catalan side's triumph, securing them the winter championship title with one matchday left to play in January.
For the Barça '10', the afternoon at the Estadio de la Cerámica was perfect, despite including a scare before halftime. The player from Mataró **provoked the expulsion of Renato Veiga** in the 38th minute after receiving a hard tackle that could have injured his left ankle.
Fortunately, it all ended with a knock and, in the second half, the 18-year-old forward was able to score his ninth goal of the season, seventh so far in LaLiga. Lamine took advantage of a loose ball inside the box, after two failed attempts by Lewandowski and De Jong, to blast past goalkeeper Luiz Júnior with a relentless strike.
Thus, Yamal has scored 4 goals and provided 3 assists in his last 8 league matches, ending the year showing his best form after dealing with osteitis pubis throughout the first half of the season. In total, there are 19 direct goal contributions in 20 games for the winger (9G/10A), who was absent for five matches due to injury.
Lamine Yamal Continues to Add: 21 Goals with Barça in LaLiga
Against Villarreal, a club to which he had already scored last season at Montjuïc, Lamine celebrated his twenty-first goal in 87 LaLiga matches. The Blaugrana's '10' remains the assist leader this season (7) and, along with Raphinha, is the team's joint top scorer in the league behind Robert Lewandowski (8).
Furthermore, he is the most influential player in the Blaugrana attack, **participating in 28.35% of the team's goals (19 out of 67)** in all competitions so far. On Sunday, he completed 79 out of 94 passes (84%), in addition to creating 6 goal-scoring opportunities during the 90 minutes.
He also completed 7 of 12 dribbles (58%) and won 11 of 17 individual duels (65%). Although the MVP of the match went to Raphinha, the '10' was clearly the most influential player in the Barça attack. A role he fulfilled throughout the first half of the 25/26 season, even when a pubic bone issue hampered his performance between October and November.
