Lamine Yamal presented his second Kopa Trophy in the preview of the Barça-Real Sociedad match. The '10' is the first footballer capable of winning the award in consecutive years
The preview of the FC Barcelona-Real Sociedad match of matchday 7 of LaLiga EA Sports 2025/26 had Lamine Yamal as the main protagonist. The player from Mataró received medical clearance before the match and, in his return with Hansi Flick's team, offered his second Kopa Trophy to the Azulgrana fans at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys.
The 18-year-old player greeted the Montjuïc crowd by raising the award granted by 'France Football'. Lamine, second in the 2025 Ballon d'Or voting, re-edited the award obtained last year, being the first footballer to revalidate the distinction awarded by the French magazine since 2018.

Lamine Yamal swept the voting for the 2025 Kopa Trophy
Lamine obtained his second Kopa almost unanimously. Only 3 of the 27 Ballon d'Or winners who voted did not choose the Barça 'crack' as the winner. In this sense, the Azulgrana '10' added 124 points out of 135 possible, surpassing Desiré Doué (PSG), Kenan Yildiz (Juventus), Dean Huijsen (Real Madrid) and other young stars.
For Barcelona, Lamine's coronation allows them to extend the Azulgrana dominance in the history of the Kopa Trophy. Four of the seven winners of the award wear the Azulgrana shirt, with Pedri González (2021) and Pablo Gavi (2022) the first Culés to obtain it.
In the women's category, Vicky López also won the award this year. The Barça Femení player had obtained the 'Golden Girl' from the Italian magazine 'Tuttosport' last year and, in 2025, made history by keeping the first women's Kopa. Between 2018 and 2024, 'France Football' only awarded the prize in the men's category.
Lamine Yamal returns after 27 days absent with Barcelona
In addition to presenting his second Kopa Trophy to the Azulgrana fans, Lamine Yamal celebrated on Sunday being able to reappear with Barcelona 27 days later. The player from Rocafonda had not played with his club since August 31, in the draw against Rayo (1-1). That day he scored his first official penalty in LaLiga.
After the international break, a pubalgia made him miss the matches against Valencia, Getafe and Oviedo in the League, in addition to the debut in the Champions League against Newcastle. The winger's goal is to arrive at his best for Wednesday's match against PSG, also in Montjuïc for the second matchday of the Champions League group stage.
