Robert Lewandowski scored his 100th goal with the Barça shirt against Athletic Club

Calendar of FC Barcelona

After three matches (one in the Champions League, two in La Liga) without scoring, Robert Lewandowski was finally able to reach his goalscoring century with FC Barcelona. Against Athletic Club, in the last match of the season, the Pole reached the historic figure in the 14th minute, with a remarkable finish against goalkeeper Unai Simón.

The '9' received a through ball from Fermín López and took advantage of the '1' of Athletic's exit to pinch it, leaving the Spanish goalkeeper without options. 'Lewi' had not scored in La Liga since matchday 29, against Girona (4-1) and had reached 99 goals as a 'culé' in the thrashing against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League (4-0).

In that sense, the striker had not shaken the nets since April 9, harmed by a muscular injury that left him out of three matches, one of them the first leg of the Champions League 'semi' against Inter Milan.

Lewandowski's goalscoring century and that of Barça in LaLiga

Curiously, Robert's 100th goal with Barça also allowed the team led by Hansi Flick to reach this round figure in LaLiga 24/25. The brand-new Spanish champion already has 101 goals in 38 matchdays, this being the first season since 2016/17 that the 'culés' have exceeded one hundred goals in the tournament.

The 101st league goal was also the work of Lewandowski, just three minutes after the partial 0-1 against Athletic. In the 17th minute, the Pole took advantage of a corner from Raphinha from the right and Unai Gómez's poor clearance to head completely alone in the small area, into an empty goal.

The 101 goals of the experienced 36-year-old striker are spread over 147 official matches in all competitions. In La Liga, 'Lewi' has 69 goals in 103 matches, while the rest of his goals are distributed as follows.

  1. LaLiga: 69 goals in 103 matches.
  2. UEFA Champions League: 19 goals in 26 matches.
  3. Copa del Rey: 7 goals in 9 matches.
  4. Spanish Super Cup: 5 goals in 6 matches.
  5. UEFA Europa League: 1 goal in 2 matches.

In total, the Warsaw native averages 0.68 goals per match and already occupies 21st place among the top historical goalscorers of Barcelona, being one of the 22 'culés' capable of exceeding 100 goals with the club.
