The past Tuesday began the second mandate of Javier Thebes at the head of LaLiga. After having arrived in 2013 to the presidency and after having seen wrapped in controversies with fans and clubs, but after finish totally with the debt of the teams with Inland revenue, the maximum mandator has renewed his place until next October of 2020.

And it has done it without any opposition since the only that pretended to aspire to fights with him, the ex-president of the SD Eibar Álex Aranzábal, desisted finally after not finding the total support by part of the clubs members of the First and Second Spanish Division. Thebes had resigned of his place the past 21 September to summon these elections. 

Therefore, the project that had initiated Thebes to expand the championship far of our borders will be still in foot. Thebes received 37 of the 41 guarantees that give the clubs that form the First and Second state Division, by what already saw that it would not have rival. The current president of the organism of Spanish competition arrived to the place the past 26 April 2013, after replacing to José Luis Astiazarán at the head of this from 2005. 

Since it created LaLiga, this has been chaired by Manuel Vega-Arango (1983-84), Antonio Baró (1984-2001), Pedro Tomás (2001-2004), José Luis Astiazarán (2005-2013) and Javier Thebes (2013-?).
