Osasuna remains silent on a possible improper lineup by Madrid with Mastantuono, who was registered as a reserve team player but will play with the first team

Real Madrid is far from moving away from controversy. And the 'Casa Blanca' faces Osasuna this Tuesday (August 19) at Santiago Bernabeu stadium, a match in which the new addition Franco Mastantuono is expected to have minutes, for whom the 'blanco' team paid 63 million euros.

The problem with the Argentine playing the game is that he was registered for the 'merengues' reserve team, while he was presented to be part of the first team, something that could be reported by the Navarrese team, but so far it seems that it will not take any action, according to recent information.

Therefore, Miguel Galán, president of CENAFE and a lawyer specializing in sports law, has raised the tone of his criticism against the 'merengue' team.

“Mastantuono has been called up with the Real Madrid first team, although he is listed as a reserve team player. Everything indicates that the club is willing to run the risk of a possible improper lineup in the match against Osasuna,” Galán warned in his appearance on 'El Chiringuito de Jugones'.

Osasuna opts for silence in the Mastantuono case

In this sense, Real Madrid's maneuver stems from its intention not to occupy its last available place in the first team (there are 25), in case a market opportunity arises that means the arrival of another player.

Therefore, Mastantuono, having recently turned 18, can occupy the reserve team place, as long as the intention is for him to actually see minutes in this one.

However, this is something that seems to be far from reality and everything indicates that the new '30' of the 'Casa Blanca' will only live with the senior team. That's where the trap comes in.

Therefore, Galán believes that Osasuna has everything in its favor to report a possible improper lineup if Franco gets to play, but the 'rojillo' team only remains silent.

Osasuna, ¿double standard? Silence with Madrid, firmness against Barça

It is worth remembering that last March, Osasuna filed a formal challenge against FC Barcelona, alleging improper alignment due to the participation of Iñigo Martínez in the match.

The Navarrese club considered that the inclusion of the Azulgrana defender violated current regulations, which unleashed a controversy over the legality of the call-up.

Thus, on that occasion, the former Barça defender was ruled out of the Spanish national team squad due to physical discomfort, although a few days later he played the match against the 'rojillo' team.

After the initial refusal of the Disciplinary Committee to their claim, Osasuna raised the case to the Appeals Committee, which finally ruled in favor of the Azulgrana team, validating the alignment of the defender and closing the process without sanction for the Azulgrana club.
