Pedri debuted as captain with Barça against Valencia (6-0), completing another recital in the center of the field. The '8' was the player with the most completed passes (94) and only lost one ball in 81 minutes
FC Barcelona crushed Valencia on Sunday (6-0) on a night in which the entire Barça team performed at a very high level. One of the differential factors in the culé exhibition, again, was Pedri González. Before the absences of Frenkie de Jong and Lamine Yamal, the '8' assumed the leadership wearing the captain's armband.
The Tegueste native, again, managed the rhythm of Barça's game, completing a total of 94 passes (leader of the match, with 93% efficiency) and, although he did not add goals or assists, he was differential so that the locals subdued, from beginning to end, a Valencia that barely made 2 shots (1 on goal) in the entire match.
Pedri's records in the Barça-Valencia: the total midfielder

Barça, on the other hand, made 24 shots, 10 of them on goal and maintained 73% possession. Pedri was unstoppable during the 81 minutes he was on the field, omnipresent in all sectors of the field (recovered 9 balls) and with up to 16 passes in the last third of the field (2 opportunities created).
In addition, he completed a pair of dribbles, won 5 of 6 duels and barely lost a ball. Together with Marc Casadó, the '8' gave another 'master class' in the midfield, demonstrating again why he is the best in the world currently in terms of midfielders.
In LaLiga, the Canary Islander leads the tournament in completed passes (345) and has made 6 shots on goal in 4 matches, with 1 goal against Levante that started Barça's comeback at the Ciutat de Valencia.

Pedri, happy to debut as captain with Barcelona
After the match against Valencia, Pedri shared a message on his social networks expressing his pride in wearing the captain's armband. With Ronald Araujo and Raphinha on the bench, in addition to the absences of Ter Stegen, De Jong and Gavi, the 22-year-old took on the challenge with an outstanding performance.
"An honor to enjoy the captaincy again and honor Cruyff's memory with this great victory. Great job, team", wrote the Tenerife native in a publication with photographs of the match. In the second half, with the entry of Raphinha, the '8' gave the armband to the Brazilian.
Rafa came in plugged in after being left out of the lineup for arriving late to the activation session prior to the match. In just 21 minutes, the '11' scored a double to set the stage for the rout that Robert Lewandowski would finally complete with another pair of goals.
Pedri left in the 81st minute for Marc Bernal, in the most emotional moment of the day for completing the return of the 18-year-old after 384 days out due to injury. The Berga native was allowed to assist 'Lewy' to finish off the Barça thrashing.
