Problems for Barça: the pitch at Vallecas, in poor condition four days before the culé visit
There are only four days left for FC Barcelona to play the third match of the season against Rayo Vallecano. The pitch of the Estadio de Vallecas is not in the best condition to host the match between ‘franjirrojos’ and culés.
Hansi Flick's team did not find the Ciutat de València pitch in good condition, and it seems that the one at the Estadio de Vallecas will be in a similar situation.
The Estadio de Vallecas is undergoing remodeling
On the afternoon of this Wednesday, the Community of Madrid reported that the initial phase of the remodeling works of the Estadio de Vallecas had been completed, with an investment of 2 million euros.
This included the complete renovation of the two roofs of the stadium, the repair of its facade, and the improvement of the internal facilities.
However, it seems that the pitch did not receive the necessary care to be in optimal condition for the return match of the preliminary phase of the Conference League against Neman from Belarus, a match to be played this Thursday at 9:00 p.m.
Due to the renovation of their stadium, Rayo Vallecano asked LaLiga to play their first two matches away from home against Girona and Athletic Club de Bilbao; now they must debut at home against the blaugrana club for the third matchday of LaLiga EA Sports 25/26.
The pitch at Vallecas is dry
According to images released by ‘El Chiringuito’, the pitch is dry, where several potholes can be seen along the side of the stadium. In that sense, it is not in condition to host a professional football match.

Iván Balliu, one of the references of the Madrid team, declared in ‘Radio Marca’ in mid-August, where he indicated that they had trained in the stadium and had found the pitch in a ‘spectacular state’. However, these statements contradict the current state of the ‘franjirrojo’ stadium.
It remains to be seen in what state the blaugrana team finds the pitch of the Estadio de Vallecas, after the match between Rayo Vallecano and Neman for the qualification to the league phase of the Conference League; those led by Iñigo Pérez took the lead in the first leg played in Belarusian territory (0-1).
