The draw in the Madrid derby puts LaLiga on fire. A victory for FC Barcelona on Sunday in Seville will bring the Catalans to just 2 points from the top spot

Calendar of FC Barcelona

Real Madrid and Atlético de Madrid drew in a thrilling derby at the Santiago Bernabéu (1-1). Carlo Ancelotti's team was superior in the second half, but they couldn't complete the comeback, and now the top spot is more open than ever, with Madrid (50) and Atlético (49) still ahead of FC Barcelona. The Catalans (45), however, have the chance to close the gap if they defeat Sevilla this Sunday at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán.

The 'Colchoneros' took the lead thanks to a penalty scored by Julián Álvarez in the first half, but Madrid responded in the second half with a goal from Kylian Mbappé. Carlo Ancelotti's team turned Jan Oblak into a star in the second half, with at least four notable saves after the hosts ended the first half without a shot on target. In total, there were 9 shots from the whites in the last 45 minutes, but only one ended in a goal.
