Real Betis and Barça played an excellent football game, but the refereeing was not up to it. This was the 'show' of Sánchez Martínez, who got an obvious failing grade after a night to forget at the Benito Villamarín
The FC Barcelona held on to the fight by the leadership of LaLiga with a worked victory in front of the Real Betis, that looked for him the cosquillas in a first part of infarct. The Catalans keep to three points of the Real Madrid because they did not leave carry in front of the advantage of the Andalusians, that advanced twice and saw like his rivals equalised in both and finally finished his triumph with a goal of Clément Lenglet.
Unfortunately for both, the árbitraje also was leading, since Sánchez Martínez lived a night to forget. The two technicians, the players and the terracing remained notably dissatisfactions with his performance, that carried a suspense irremediable in the assessments of fans and experts. From the first to the last minute, the one of Lorca took erroneous decisions in actions quite simple to judge.
The analysis of the party, reinforced by the study of César Barrenechea Montero, ex referee and collaborator of 'Sportive World', leaves in bad place the performance of the murciano, that started the commitment with the left foot. To start with, there was a very clear fault of Guido Rodríguez to Leo Messi that it went to the limbo, before another key moment for the future of the clash, in this case in favour of the verdiblancos.
The evident penalti of Clément Lenglet by hands warned it to him from the VAR, and had to attend to the screen to confirm something that had seen to be very positioned on the lawn. The distribution of cards also was irregular and full of doubts, since after a patada on Carles Aleñá in which Sergi Roberto played the second yellow and did not see it, there was another of Nabil Fekir to the of Reus that equally remained without punishment.
The thing did not improve in the resumption, in which the accumulation of local infringements could have started some additional cardboard. For I satisfy, the referee did not know to manage the intensity of the footballers, and his broncas added a tension that finish exploding. A slight protest of Fekir after being admonished cost him the expulsion, the same that another complaint of Sergio Busquets shortly before that it supposed him a yellow.
The finish final was another maximum penalty of Marc Bartra on Messi, that was so reiterativa and visible that results incredible that no pitara. The central attached to the '10' in the small area in several occasions, and afterwards prevented his shot with the leg in another punishable intervention. Further of a penalti on Arthur that it is more debatible -although it also seems clear-, situations like this can not remain in the forget.
The referees and the VAR have to improve urgently
It is obvious that to the referees and to the VAR no has to them criminalizar, but urge a mejoría in his level that avoid the repeated scandals in LaLiga. Every time they are more the dissatisfied clubs because they feel defenceless in front of the blindaje referee's, and although it accepts that they are human and have all the right to make a mistake , also has to understand that the understanding has to go joined to a professional behaviour, with eagerness of superación and a will for being transparent and have an only and applicable criterion without debates neither constant doubts.
