19 years of legend! Anniversary of Leo Messi's debut with Barça
19 years have already passed since Lionel Messi's official debut with FC Barcelona, against RCD Espanyol in Montjuïc. He was the beginning of the greatest player in history
Lionel Messi dressed for the first time, of official way, the official T-shirt of the FC Barcelona 19 years ago. On 16 October 2004 it produced the debut of 'The Flea' in a derbi Catalan, in front of the RCD Espanyol in Montjuïc. Frank Rijkaard, gave entrance to the Argentinian player when they were missing eight minutes for the end of the clash. The rest is history.
And it is that, with 17 years, three months and 33 days, with the dorsal '30' in his back, Messi appeared for the first time in the Barça to give beginning to a full history of successes, goals and titles that carried him to turn into the best player of the history. Of 2004 to 2021, the born player in Rosario was indisputable in the group blaugrana, turning into the maximum historical reference of the club. It seems impossible that somebody equalise his registers and much less his legacy.
Leo Messi and the Barça, an insuperable history
It is worth it to remember that a year before, on 16 November 2003, Messi had contested a friendly party against the Port wine, but went in the big derbi Catalan in which it began of official way his legend in the Barça. The only 'marked' in the stage of Leo Messi in the Barça was his exit. In 2021, when it corresponded to extend his agreement, from the directive of Joan Laporta communicated him that they were not able to register his renewal and that, therefore, had to do his cases. The relation between both parts remained very touched and tried to restore it so that it returned, like free agent, this last summer, but to the history went back to repeat with the Fair Play financial.
