The player of the Port wine Moussa Marega abandoned a party of the Portuguese league after receiving racist insults, a gesture supported by the Barcelona Nélson Semedo
The past weekend, Moussa Marega, forward of the Port wine, was victim of racist insults in the party that his team contested in the stadium of the Vitoria Guimaraes. The African footballer did not hold the attitude of the local fans and, in signal of protest, decided to leave to play the party and leave of the field, in spite of that some of his mates and rivals treated to avoid it.
In some statements to the newspaper 'Public', Nélson Semedo, player of the FC Barcelona, remembered that it suffered something similar in the same stadium Alfonso Henriques does years, when it was player of the Benfica. "Today it would have acted differently. It was not so mature in this moment. It would have done exactly what did Marega. It had left the field", ensured.
"It would have done the same that Marega"
Nélson Semedo Even regretted that, when it touched him to him suffer racist insults by part of the public of the Vitoria Guimaraes, in spite of that received the support of his mates and of the club, part of the Portuguese public opinion threw him on. "Memory have read an article in which they criticised my gesture, saying that the customer always has reason and that the only interaction allowed between a player and the fan is an applause. Certainly they would not be expecting that it applauded an act of racism", remembered.
Given the circumstances, the Barcelona side considers that the attendant to stop the parties if there are racist chants has to be the referee. "The first person in reacting in this type of situations has to be the referee. In my opinion, what the referee has to do is to give by finalised the meeting and not expecting to that a player suffer so much that it have to do it he", considered.
Semedo Regretted that the racism no only lives in Portugal, but to global level. "In the football, the acts of racism have gone back increasingly common by fault of punishment or by a slight punishment by part of the UEFA or of the managers of each Federation. The acts of racism, independently of where occur, have to be punished like a crime. Lamentably, the racism is a very present problem in the society", sentenced.
An alike case to the of Eto'or
Again, Semedo approved the gesture of Marega: "What sucedió in Guimaraes was unlucky. In the football, as in everything in the life, can not have place for the racism. Marega Was very brave for leaving the party". It is necessary to remember that the maliense abandoned the field in an attitude resembled the one who took Samuel Eto'or, being player of the Barça, does years in a party against the Real Saragossa in the Romareda.
