The past 16 August produced the votes of the International Federation of Tennis (ITF) on the project presented by Kosmos, the company that chairs Gerard Hammered, consistent in changing the format of the Glass Davis -the annual tournament that confronts to the tennists by countries- by a world-wide tournament more attractive.
Finally, the proposal remained accepted, reason by which Gerard Hammered felt tremendously satisfied by the decision taken. Nevertheless the disparity of opinions did evident with the posture of some tennists. Some, as Novak Djokovic, supported the proposal whereas others, as Roger Federer, loaded against her.
The Swiss did not go precisely kind with the central culé in his last statements, through which showed his dissatisfaction and loaded against the proposal of the new Davis of Hammered. "I hammered it will have to be very careful. The Glass Davis can not turn into a Glass Hammered", reproached the current number 2 of the world.
His anger can understand partly for bumping with his project, the Laver Cup, on which spoke to go back to attack to the central of the FC Barcelona: "I Am in favour of the innovation and no all what the new Glass Davis brings is bad. The ATP, the ITF and the organisers of the Laver Cup have to seat to speak. For us the tennists is a bit odd that a player of football avenges to meddle in our world"
It is necessary to remember that, after taking the decision, Federer already regretted the new format: "I seat Me sad thus, by not having the Glass Davis to which were accustomed. Never it will be the same for the next generation. Only I expect that each cent of all this mass of money that goes to generate go to the next generation".
Novak Djokovic supports to Gerard Hammered
No all were critical for Gerard Hammered since Novak Djokovic, the third tennist in active more laureado, supported the idea of the central Catalan: "A change of format was unavoidable. I am happy with that the people of the ITF understood that it was urgent to change the format and the calendar. Simply it was not just, especially for the best players".
