Ferran Torres scored his first goals of the preseason to close Barça's thrashing of FC Seoul (3-7)
FC Barcelona added their second victory of the summer against FC Seoul (3-7). Hansi Flick's team crushed the South Korean team in a match they dominated from start to finish, completing a total of 19 shots (13 on goal) and with 73% possession.
The coach opted for his gala XI from the start, with Robert Lewandowski occupying the center of the area instead of Ferran Torres. The Pole opened the scoring in the 8th minute, taking advantage of a rebound off the post after a low shot from Lamine Yamal.
In the second half, Flick again changed the eleven Barça players, again giving minutes to Marcus Rashford, Roony Bardghji and the 'Shark' as an offensive trident. The '7' was the one who made the best of his minutes, scoring a double to close Barça's thrashing in Seoul.
The 'Shark' took advantage of the passivity of Seoul's defense to 'wet' twice
In the 74th minute, with Barça already up 2-4, Ferran received a through ball from Jofre Torrents and, after an oriented control, beat his rival's mark to position himself to his right, finishing low to beat goalkeeper Cheol Won.
Towards the end, Seoul had pulled one back with a goal from Han-Min and the 'Culés' hurt again down the flanks. Rashford noticed the presence of the '7' in the area, filtering a pass that allowed the Valencian, with time and space, to readjust again to his right to take a placed shot.
In the 45 minutes he played, the 'Shark' only missed a couple of passes in 11 attempts (82%) and won two of the three individual duels he had. Torres looked very comfortable entering and leaving the area, forming a very effective tandem with Marcus.
Ferran Torres values Barça's signings and his role in the team
"We are improving physically and technically. I am very excited, I want to be important", began by saying the '7'. In that sense, beyond the usual rumors about his departure, the Spanish striker reaffirms his desire to continue fighting for a place, although now he will have more competition for a place in the XI.
In this regard, Torres highlighted the importance of the signings made this summer. "The team is better than last season. Rashford is super powerful and Joan is a great goalkeeper. He will give us security", argued the 25-year-old attacker. On the other hand, he also reiterated the team's ambition to try to win everything in 2026.
"The goal is always to win all the titles. The treble like last year and also the Champions League", pointed out the player from Foios. In the 24/25 season, the 'Shark' scored 19 goals in 45 games. Will he be able to surpass his goalscoring record with the 'Culés'?
