Carlo Ancelotti, coach of Brazil, decided not to call up Vinicius Jr for the matches against Bolivia and Chile. The Real Madrid player is suspended for the first match.
Vinicius Jr will not be called up for the matches against Bolivia and Chile for the South American qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup. Carlo Ancelotti decided to give the Real Madrid '7' a rest in September, taking advantage of the fact that the Brazilian national team has already qualified for the World Cup. The 'Casa blanca' player does not appear on the pre-list submitted to Conmebol.
Vini could have been taken into account for this double date, but if he had traveled he would only have played the match against Bolivia, since he is suspended for the match against Chile due to accumulated yellow cards.
The non-call-up of the carioca player to the 'canarinha' would benefit the 'merengue' club, as he would take a week of rest after facing RCD Mallorca on August 30 at the Santiago Bernabéu. Madrid's first match in the month of September would be the weekend of the 13th-14th against Real Sociedad at Anoeta.
Vinicius Jr escapes Brazil's visit to Bolivia
Brazil must visit Bolivia for the last day of the qualifiers on September 9. The Municipal Stadium of El Alto is located 4,150 meters above sea level, much higher than the Bolivian capital, La Paz, which is 3,650 meters high.
In that sense, Ancelotti takes that consideration with the former Flamengo player because he is a player he knows very well when he had him at Real Madrid and in the Brazilian national team he has become one of his references, so he has no doubt about his quality.
Rodrygo does appear on the pre-list, even if he doesn't play with Xabi Alonso at Real Madrid
Ancelotti will make public the definitive call-up of Brazil for the next FIFA date on August 25 at the headquarters of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF). In the previous list there are two players who play for Real Madrid: Éder Militao and Rodrygo Goes.
Militao is recovering from a cruciate ligament injury and was able to see minutes in the league premiere against Osasuna at the Bernabéu. The opposite is the case of Rodrygo, who had to watch the match from the bench, and his continuity in Valdebebas is in doubt.
If the '11' wants to be taken into account by 'Caletto' in the Brazilian national team, he should look for a new destination as soon as possible. Manchester City is the only one, for now, willing to approach the 100 million euros demanded by the club chaired by Florentino Pérez.
Xabi Alonso has prioritized other alternatives, even debuting Franco Mastantuono first, making it clear that he is not counting on the Osasco player. Even Brahim Díaz, who started against Osasuna, is ahead of the '11' in the plans of the Tolosarra.
