Real Madrid fails to recover Mbappé: the Frenchman has been hospitalized for gastroenteritis and could also miss the match against Pachuca
Bad news for Real Madrid, a team that has just had a lackluster debut in the 2025 Club World Cup with a 1-1 draw against Al-Hilal. The Merengue team has used its various official channels to report a new health setback affecting one of its stars: Kylian Mbappé.
Through a statement, the white entity announced that 'Donatello' is presenting an acute case of gastroenteritis and has been hospitalized to undergo various medical tests and receive the corresponding treatment.

He had already missed the Club World Cup debut due to a "febrile process"
It should be remembered that Mbappé had already missed the first match of the Club World Cup due to what, at the time, was described as a "febrile process". Therefore, he was not even called up by Xabi Alonso for the match against the Arabs.
Regarding his condition, the Tolosarra coach —in the press conference after the match against Al-Hilal— stated:
"In the last two days he has been unwell, with a significant viral process. We have to see how he improves day by day"
Will Mbappé make it to the match against Pachuca?
At the moment, it is unknown if Mbappé will be available for Real Madrid's next match, which will be played on Sunday, June 22nd at 9:00 PM (CET) at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, where the Whites will face Pachuca in the second match of Group H.
Gastroenteritis usually has a relatively short recovery time, ranging from 3 to 7 days. However, in some cases, the sick leave period may be extended if complications arise or if the response to treatment is not favorable.
Mbappé's debut could be postponed until the last group match
If the forward is not ready for the match against Pachuca, his debut in the Club World Cup could be postponed until the third and final match of the group stage, when Real Madrid faces RB Salzburg on the morning of Thursday, June 26th to Friday, June 27th, at 3:00 AM (CET).
Will Mbappé recover in time, or will Xabi Alonso have to recompose the offense as he did against Al-Hilal, where he called upon the youth player Gonzalo García to fill the role of the French star? We'll have to see.
