The Real Madrid board and coaching staff have turned a blind eye to Vinicius Jr.'s monumental anger after being substituted by Xabi Alonso in the 72nd minute of the Clásico against Barça

Calendar of FC Barcelona

Vinicius Jr. was one of the main protagonists of the Real Madrid-FC Barcelona (2-1) from matchday 10 of LaLiga 25/26. The Brazilian invented a penalty right at the start of the match and was a constant headache for Jules Koundé on the flank.

Although he didn't score or assist, the '7' generally had a good game, winning 7 of 11 duels (64%), completing 5 successful dribbles out of 6 possible, and taking 3 shots (1 of them on target).

However, Xabi Alonso chose to take him off in the 72nd minute, a decision that provoked 'Vini's' monumental anger. The winger left his place on the field for his compatriot Rodrygo Goes and went straight to the locker room without even looking at his coach.

Vinicius lost his head in the final stretch of the Clásico

On the contrary, '7' left very angry, saying aloud "Always me. I'm leaving the team. I'm leaving, I better leave", according to the images of the broadcast captured by 'DAZN'. After a few minutes, members of the technical staff convinced him to return to the bench until the end of the match.

In stoppage time, Vinicius was one of the protagonists of the scuffle between both teams, confronting several Barça players, mainly Lamine Yamal. The clash between the two extended until after the final whistle, and César Soto Grado's report reflected a warning for the 'merengue' forward, his second so far in the League.

After the match, Vini spoke with Real Madrid TV about what happened in added time, but not about the reaction to his departure from the field. "El Clásico is like that, there are many things on and off the field. We try to balance all that, but it is not always possible," the Brazilian began by saying.

In that sense, he added: "We don't want to offend anyone, neither the Barça players nor the fans. We know that when we go in there we have to defend our side and today it was like that. Hala Madrid."

Real Madrid, for now, will 'forget' Vinicius' reaction against Xabi Alonso

Despite the explicitness of his complaint against Xabi Alonso upon leaving the Clásico, neither the coaching staff nor the club will open a disciplinary file against the '7'. His reaction was not well received by the staff or the squad, but there is a certain resignation regarding this type of behavior on the part of the 25-year-old player.

Vinicius, in 25/26, will be the third 'merengue' captain (after Dani Carvajal and Fede Valverde), and, therefore, should set the example. Alonso, however, made it clear how he will manage disciplinary situations from now on.

"I'm left with many positive things from the match, many good things from Vini, but I don't want to lose focus. These are things that we will talk about and, within the great match that it was, Vini also contributed," said the man from Tolosa in the post-match press conference.

Vinicius, for the moment, has been in the starting lineup in 10 of Real Madrid's 13 matches in the 25/26 season. However, he only completed the 90 minutes on 3 occasions. This management of minutes seems to have upset the player from Sao Gonçalo, considering that his teammate Kylian Mbappé has been in the starting lineup in every match, always playing at least 80 minutes.

The '7's contract ends in 2027 and, for the moment, his renewal seems stalled. Vini wants to be Real Madrid's franchise player, but Florentino Pérez has opted for 'Kiki' as the star of the squad. Therefore, in Real Madrid circles, many believe that this could be the Brazilian's last season at the club.
