The 2026 Spanish Super Cup will surpass the economic benefits for its four participants compared to the previous edition. In total, the RFEF is distributing 23 million euros for the tournament

Calendar of FC Barcelona

The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) confirmed the prizes it will distribute for the 2026 Spanish Super Cup. In total, the winner of the tournament, to be held from January 7 to 12 at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah, will receive around 10 million euros out of the 23 million allocated for the four participants.

In the 2025 edition, the RFEF distributed €19,648,486, profits that will see **an increase of €3,351,514 this year**, reaching 23 million net. In total, the Federation records income in the order of 51.9 'kilos' from the tournament, of which 44.3% will go to the coffers of FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, Athletic Club, and Atlético de Madrid.

The almost 60 million correspond to **sponsorship agreements** (€27 million), **organization and participation** (€11.5 million), and **television rights** (€12.6 million). The 2026 edition, therefore, will be the wealthiest in history and will leave an additional sum of about 28 'kilos' for the development of non-professional football.

Barça Could Surpass 2025 Revenue Thanks to the Super Cup

In the 2025 edition, Barcelona and Real Madrid had secured 6 million net euros for participating in the tournament, while the other two semifinalists, Athletic and Mallorca, received €2 million and 850,000 euros, respectively.

Barça earned another additional million for playing in the final and 2 million more for winning the trophy, while Madrid, as runner-up, took home €7.15 million. This year, the amounts will be a bit more equitable due to Atlético's presence, as the RFEF takes into account each team's historical and recent track record.

In that regard, the Blaugrana squad, as the reigning champion of La Liga and the Copa del Rey, will have a much juicier prize secured compared to 2025 in case they repeat the title. The Catalans are the most successful club in the competition with 15 trophies and have won 10 of the last 21 editions

Barcelona and Real Madrid go for their fourth consecutive final

Since 2020, the Supercopa has been contested in a 'final four' format that includes semifinals and a single-match final between four clubs. Between 1982 and 2019, it was only played by the league champion and the Copa del Rey champion or runner-up. The tournament was only not played in 1986 and 1987 due to problems in defining the date and venue of the final.

So far, the only edition played in Saudi Arabia that did not feature a Clásico in the semifinals or final was 2020. Real Madrid defeated Atlético on penalties (0-0, 4-1) after eliminating Valencia (1-3). The 'Colchoneros' had eliminated Barça (2-3).

In 2023, the Blaugrana team defeated the 'Merengues' in the final (1-3). A year later, there was a white revenge (4-1), while in 2025 Hansi Flick's team won overwhelmingly with a 'manita' (2-5). In 2022 there was also a Clásico, but in the semifinals, with a Madrid victory in extra time (2-3)

This year, there will be a Madrid derby in the 'semis' (Thursday 08 at 20:00), while Barça and Athletic will face each other for the second consecutive year. In 2025, the Catalans took the win with goals from Gavi and Lamine Yamal (0-2)
