A new opportunity? Pablo Torre will leave Barça after arriving in the summer of 2021 for 16 million euros. Now the player will leave around 5 'kilos' in the club's coffers

Calendar of FC Barcelona

FC Barcelona and RCD Mallorca have reached an agreement for the transfer of midfielder Pablo Torre. The 'bermellón' team will pay Barça around 5 million euros for the 22-year-old player.

The departure of the Cantabrian attacking midfielder was a given. For days, the Azulgrana team and the 'Mallorcan' team had been negotiating the methods that would allow the talented player to leave.

In this way, in the last hours, 'Sport' reported that, in addition to the 5 'kilos' that Barça will receive, they will also keep 50% of a future sale and include a buy-back option for the player, who barely played during the 2024/25 season under the orders of Hansi Flick.

In this sense, the player arrived at the Blaugrana entity in the summer of 2021, coming from Racing de Santander for 16 million euros, and leaves after three seasons as a Barcelona player.

In the 2024/25 season, he participated in 14 matches, in which he scored 4 goals and provided 3 assists, while in the 2022/23 season he had minutes in 10 matches, where he scored 1 goal and assisted on 1 occasion; in that same season, he played 3 matches with Barça Atlètic.

It should be noted that the '14' played the 2023/24 season as a piece of Girona (the team reached an agreement with Barça to obtain the loan of the player for that season), a team with which he played 29 matches.

A new challenge for Torre

The departure of the Cantabrian player would not be generated by a lack of quality, but by the fierce competition in the Barça midfield with players such as Dani Olmo, Fermín López or Gavi.

Similarly, the player expressed his discontent in an interview with 'Sport' for the lack of opportunities provided by coach Hansi Flick.

"I think I could have played many more minutes, I think I earned them. There was a lot of competition and it was difficult to get in, but I think that part was not fair either and I told him in a chat I had with him," he said.

According to 'Sport', work is already underway on the final documentation. Barring any setbacks, the transfer of Pablo Torre will be made official at the beginning of next week, which will allow the midfielder to join Mallorca's pre-season from day one, scheduled for July 10.

Ajax and Olympique de Marseille also sounded out Pablo Torre

The player would also have generated interest in Ajax of the Eredivisie and Olympique de Marseille of Ligue 1, but the attacking midfielder ended up opting for the local option, that is, Mallorca.

It is important to mention that both Ajax and Olympique will participate in the UEFA Champions League 2025/26. However, the coach of the Mallorcans, Jagoba Arrasate, would have influenced the player's decision after talking to him.
