FC Barcelona is very close to closing the transfer of Álex Valle to Italian side Como. Although the left-back had interest from Borussia Dortmund and Betis, both clubs with guaranteed spots in the next Champions League and Europa League, respectively, the Barça youth player will remain under the orders of Cesc Fàbregas.
Valle arrived at the Italian team in January on a six-month loan and quickly became a starter. In total, he started in 13 of the 15 Serie A matches he played this season, only missing one matchday (against Parma). Although he did not score goals or provide assists, he left very good impressions and the club has decided to pay his clause.
How much money will Barça receive for Álex Valle?
In that sense, Barça will receive 6 million euros for Álex, after three seasons in which the defender alternated loans to Andorra (22/23), Levante (23/24), Celtic Glasgow (first half of 24/25) and Como.
In Scotland he provided 5 assists in 19 appearances, but Fàbregas convinced him to move to Italy after a semester where he failed to earn a starting position with Brendan Rodgers' team.
For the Barça team, the first sale of the summer may coincide with the imminent return to the 1:1 rule, thanks to the certification of the VIP seats of the new Spotify Camp Nou, a 'lever' pending approval by Barça's new auditor and LaLiga for a couple of months.
The construction of the new boxes by Limak before June 30 will allow Barça to reinvest every euro earned in the market in new signings, while freeing up salary margin in its squad to register all the first-team players who renew their contracts.
Thus, Álex Valle, who only played 22 matches with Barça's B team, without ever officially debuting with the first team, provides the first boost to the club to face the summer market with money in the bank and sufficient margin to add, at least, a couple of reinforcements without financial limitations.
The board hopes to sign a left winger and, perhaps, another full-back between July and August. Before leaving for Celtic, Álex had renewed with Barça for two more years, until June 2026, setting his release clause at 6 'kilos'.
