Álex Valle knows that he doesn't have a place in the Barça squad for the 25/26 season. Which will be the left-back's next team?
FC Barcelona hopes to close the transfer of Álex Valle in the coming days. The 21-year-old defender played the first half of 2024/25 on loan at Celtic de Glasgow and, in January, he went to Como of Italy, also on loan for six months, at the request of coach Cesc Fàbregas. In Serie A, the Badalona native ratified the good sensations he had left in Scotland.
For this reason, there are several teams interested in the left-back, whose termination clause is only 6 million euros. Álex has no place in the culé squad, since both Alejandro Balde and Gerard Martín are fixed pieces for Hansi Flick for next season. In the case of Gerard, the '35' cleared up doubts about his performance in the second half of the season.
Como, the first option to secure the transfer of Álex Valle
Valle played on loan at Levante in 23/24 (he played 29 games) and, previously, he had also tried his luck at Andorra after his time with the azulgrana subsidiary. The youth player played 22 games (1 assist) with Barça Atlètic and, beyond having been promoted to the first team, he did not play official matches.
After the arrival of Flick, the Catalan traveled with the team to the preseason, but could not earn the position. Looking ahead to 25/26, his situation seems much clearer regarding a definitive transfer. With Como, he played 14 games without registering goals or assists, but his performance left Fàbregas very satisfied.
For this reason, the Lombard team has, for now, the first option to sign him, although the team wants to convince Barça to lower the price of his clause a little, perhaps giving up a percentage of the player's sports rights.
The 'lariano' team finished the season in the middle of the table in Serie A, so they will not compete in European competitions next season. However, their goal was to achieve permanence without major scares, something they have more than achieved.
Betis and Borussia Dortmund do not give up on the full-back
Outside of Italy, Betis and Borussia Dortmund are also closely following the steps of Álex Valle. Both teams have secured their participation in the next Europa League and Champions League, respectively, a key factor in convincing the left-back. Hence, the Badalona native is taking a prudent time to opt for the best offer, while Barça prepares to cash in.
