The FC Barcelona forward is about to close his departure to AS Monaco in a deal with a purchase option and future clauses favorable to the Barça club.
FC Barcelona and AS Monaco are finalizing the details of the agreement for the loan of Ansu Fati, who will leave for one season with a purchase option of 12 million euros. The Catalan club also secures a percentage in a possible future sale.
Ansu Fati's loan to Monaco, about to materialize
Ansu Fati, FC Barcelona forward, is one step away from becoming a new AS Monaco player. According to sources close to the negotiation, the agreement between clubs contemplates a loan for one season with a non-mandatory purchase option set at 12 million euros. In addition, Barça reserves a high percentage in a future resale if the Monegasque club exercises said option.
The 22-year-old attacker, who returned last summer after an unfruitful loan spell at Brighton, has barely featured for the new coach Hansi Flick. In the last season he accumulated just 298 minutes spread over 11 official matches: six in La Liga, four in the Champions League and one in the Copa del Rey.
Conditions of the Barça-Monaco agreement for Ansu Fati
Ansu Fati, whose contract with FC Barcelona extends until June 2027, accepted weeks ago the possibility of leaving for Monaco, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano. The negotiations, which seemed to stall due to Barça's intention to include a buy-back clause, have recently been unlocked.

Transfermarkt currently values the player at five million euros, which places the purchase option by Monaco in a reasonable range for a possible revaluation if he recovers his best version.
The operation not only seeks to offer minutes and continuity to the player, but also to protect the future interests of Barça with a significant capital gains clause in case of a definitive sale.
Barça prioritizes his departure after a season without prominence
The club's decision to facilitate Fati's departure is part of a broader strategy of restructuring the squad. Under the direction of Deco, the technical secretariat seeks to free up salary space and open the door to new offensive reinforcements.
Players like Luis Díaz (Liverpool) or Marcus Rashford (Manchester United) are being considered as possible additions.
Fati's situation has been especially delicate. After breaking through as one of the great promises of European football, injuries —especially the serious knee injury suffered in 2020— limited his progress. Although the player was determined to succeed at the Camp Nou, his prominence has been declining.
Hansi Flick has not hidden his position: he did not even offer him minutes when La Liga was already decided. This message was definitive for the player to reconsider his future.
