Ansu Fati is one of Barça's definite discards for the 24-25 season. The '10', although he does not want to leave, could pack his bags for Portugal this summer. Find out why!

Calendar of FC Barcelona

FC Barcelona hopes to find a solution to Ansu Fati's future this summer. The player from Bisau is one of Hansi Flick's definite discards for 2025-26 and his salary (around 12 million euros gross per year) is a serious problem for the Azulgrana finances ahead of next season.

In that sense, a permanent transfer, at this point, looks unlikely due to the poor season of the 22-year-old winger, as he has only played 253 minutes spread over 10 appearances. However, a loan to a team that assumes at least 50% of his salary can resolve his departure in July or August.

In Portugal, the latest information points to the interest of Sporting CP and Porto in the Barça academy player. The Lisbon team has secured its participation in the next Champions League, a factor that may tip the balance in their favor. The 'dragons', on the other hand, are fighting to get into the Europa League.

Porto and Sporting: ideal destinations for Ansu Fati in 25-26?

On the one hand, Porto sees in the striker a similar opportunity to the one they had with Samu Omorodion, betting on young players with potential to revive their careers.

In turn, Sporting seeks to strengthen its attack in the face of the possible departure of Viktor Gyökeres, considering Ansu as an attractive option to cover that vacancy. The Swede, in fact, has been mentioned a lot as a possible replacement for Robert Lewandowski.

The Portuguese League, with its competitive level and European showcase, is presented as an ideal destination for the player to regain confidence and quality minutes. However, the winger prioritizes playing in a 'top' league and has made this known to his agent, Jorge Mendes.

In addition to interest from Portugal, several LaLiga clubs have made concrete offers for Ansu Fati. Villarreal and Girona have shown interest in offering him a leading role, with different sports projects but with the promise of giving him continuity and confidence.

Similarly, Celta de Vigo has also emerged as a suitor that the coach Claudio Giráldez likes a lot, as he could offer him minutes and a less demanding media environment. Sevilla and Real Betis, on the other hand, no longer see his arrival as feasible for strictly sporting reasons.

Outside of Spain, teams such as Galatasaray, Fenerbahce and Besiktas have considered his signing, although in most cases the preferred option is a loan with an option to buy, given the player's contractual and salary situation.

There are also offers from Premier League clubs and other European leagues, although Ansu and his environment's preference seems to lean towards a destination where he can have immediate prominence and stability. In turn, his bad experience at Brighton (23-24) conditions the striker's interest in returning to England.

Barça needs to get rid of Ansu, but...

Thus, looking ahead to the upcoming summer market, Barça prioritizes a definitive sale with Ansu Fati to free up salary mass and amortize new signings, although it does not rule out a loan if a satisfactory offer does not arrive.

In any case, the club would be willing to facilitate his departure, even covering part of the salary in case of loan. Even, a contract termination is not ruled out if none of the options prosper.

This last route, however, is the most complex, as the '10' has a contract until 2027. Giving him a free letter and reserving a high percentage of a future sale is a plan that Ansu and his environment have no intention, for now, of accepting.
