Barcelona trusts Ronald Araujo and is looking for alternatives to register their signings. Discover Barça's plan to strengthen the squad without selling
Fútbol Club Barcelona has made its strategy clear regarding the final stretch of the 2025 transfer market: it is not among its priorities to sell key players like Ronald Araujo. This has been hinted at by sports vice president Rafa Yuste, who has reiterated his full confidence in the Uruguayan center-back and the rest of the dressing room.
While the Azulgrana entity continues to explore ways to register new signings such as Rashford, Joan García or Roony Bardghji, Yuste has acknowledged that the work with Deco continues at a good pace, without contemplating traumatic exits that weaken the squad.
Barça is not considering the departure of Ronald Araujo
Ronald Araujo, who has been the subject of speculation in recent weeks, has the full backing of the sports management. Despite the fact that Hansi Flick has rotated in the defense of the culé team, Yuste has been blunt:
"We are very happy with Araujo, as with the rest of the players. I think I have answered clearly."
The Uruguayan defender has recovered his termination clause of 1,000 million euros, after it temporarily dropped to 60. In addition, he remains one of the captains of the first team, a symbol of the current sports project.
Selling players is not Barcelona's preferred path
The Blaugrana club does not want to resort to important exits to achieve the desired margin of financial fair play and activate the 1:1 rule. In the words of Yuste himself:
"We have little left to be able to announce that everything will end well. We are positive."
The Barça manager has indicated that they are assessing additional income or an agreement with a new strategic sponsor that collaborates with the commercial area. The immediate priority remains the registration of reinforcements before the official start of the 2025/26 season.
Yuste reaffirms his commitment despite Saudi interest
Before returning to Barcelona from Japan, where he accompanied the team on the Asian tour, the vice president has also denied any immediate decision regarding the offer he has from Al Nassr to occupy a senior management position. His focus is on completing the planning with Deco:
"I'm going back to Barcelona to talk to Deco. We still have some issues to resolve."
No hasty decisions about the captaincy in the culé squad
Yuste also wanted to put an end to the rumors about a possible replacement in the team's captaincy, after the internal tensions between the club and Marc-André ter Stegen: "It is a decision completely for the team and, ultimately, for the coach."
In this way, the club seeks to transmit normality and internal cohesion at a key moment to close the definitive squad for the 2025/26 season.
Confidence in the new Technical Committee of Referees
Asked about the recent appointments to the Technical Committee of Referees (CTA), Yuste avoided commenting on specific profiles such as that of Chema Alonso. However, he wanted to send a message of confidence in the institution:
"One person does not make a committee. We trust in the professionalism of the people and that this new CTA will do well."
With this firm position, Barça sends a clear message to the environment: forced operations are not contemplated, but the current focus is on reinforcing the competitiveness of the Flick squad without sacrificing key assets such as Ronald Araujo.
