Ferran Torres' future seems to be more about continuing as a Barça player. Apparently, Aston Villa would not be interested in the 'Shark'
In recent days, rumors from England strongly indicated that Aston Villa would go all out in the summer market to sign the FC Barcelona striker Ferran Torres. However, recent reports suggest that it is all a lie.
It was even speculated that 'the Villains' would offer Barça between 40 and 50 million euros, while the Azulgrana team would not accept less than 30 'kilos' for the player who had an outstanding 2024/25 season despite not being an undisputed starter.
In this vein, according to 'Mundo Deportivo', Aston Villa would not even be interested in the Blaugrana '7', much less have held conversations with Barça to inquire about the player.
Similarly, 'MD' added that sources from within the Barcelona team handle the same versions related to the issue, stating that the club has not received any formal offer for the Valencian footballer, and internal sources claim to have no knowledge of ongoing negotiations or a possible departure.
Flick trusts Ferran Torres
For its part, Hansi Flick's coaching staff has been clear about the 'Shark': the player is in the plans and is not among the transferable names in the current Azulgrana squad.
Ferran Torres went from playing on the left and right wing to becoming Robert Lewandowski's usual replacement and has done so with flying colors. The 2024/25 season is a clear demonstration of the '7's' footballing growth, as his numbers place him as the team's third highest scorer with 19 goals, only behind the Pole (42) and Raphinha (34). In addition, he contributed 7 assists in 45 matches (1,921 minutes).
Despite his limited prominence on the field, the player would be motivated to surpass the figures recorded in the past season during the 2025/26 season.
Ferran does not want to leave Barça
Just as the coaching staff is interested in the Shark continuing to wear the Azulgrana shirt, the Valencian wants the same, as he would not be interested in changing teams and no one from Barça has told him that they want to sell him.
In this way, the 25-year-old striker would opt to compete for a place in the starting XI, considering that in principle, the next season will be 'Lewy's' last as a Barça player.
Thus, everything seems to indicate that the player will continue for at least one more season as a Blaugrana. With a contract in force until 2027, the '7' would face the 2025/26 campaign as his fourth full season as a Barça player.
The future of the native of Foios has been involved in endless rumors. Another team that allegedly showed interest in him would have been Newcastle United, but so far they have not made any move for him either.
