Nico Williams chose Barça and there is already an agreement. The operation now depends on the payment to Athletic to be completed
The arrival of Nico Williams to FC Barcelona seems imminent. Recently, details have emerged suggesting that the talented and highly sought-after left winger from Pamplona will soon sign a new contract with the Blaugrana team, in what is shaping up to be one of the biggest transactions of the summer.
Agreement between Nico Williams and Barcelona: contract until 2031
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, there is already a contractual agreement between Nico Williams and Barça. The link between both parties would extend for six seasons, until 2031, with an estimated net salary between seven and eight million euros per year, in line with the economic reality of the Catalan team.

For the agreement to be fully closed, the only thing left is for Barcelona to reach an economic understanding with Athletic Club, a team that for the moment exclusively refers to the player's release clause as a way to allow his departure.
Nico lowered his economic demands to sign for the Blaugrana club
This information coincides with previous reports about a pre-agreement that already linked Nico until 2031. At that time, there was talk of a salary request of 12 M€. In any case, this represents a significant reduction compared to the player's recent demands: according to Sky Sports Germany, the forward was asking for 20 M€ gross per season to join Bayern Munich.
Precisely, the Bavarians give the impression of having been left out of the race for the winger. This was recently announced by journalist Florian Plettenberg, who commented that Nico Williams had definitively rejected a proposal from the Munich team in the last 48 hours. His decision would be made: he wants to wear the FC Barcelona shirt.

With the personal agreement closed, only the payment of the release clause would remain, which amounts to 62 M€ (including CPI). According to RAC1, this payment would not represent a problem for Barcelona, since the Catalan team has sufficient credit lines and manageable interest rates to face this operation.

Total will of the player: Nico wants to wear Blaugrana
Only the last details remain to be finalized, but everything indicates that the operation is progressing steadily. Unlike the previous summer, this time Nico Williams seems totally determined to make the leap to the Blaugrana team, even above Athletic Club's intention to renew him and make him their highest paid player.
In Barcelona, there is total consensus around his incorporation this summer: president, sports management and coaching staff approve his arrival. In turn, Nico would land in a project in which he would feel supported, since he knows several members of the squad and maintains very good relationships with some, such as Lamine Yamal and Alejandro Balde, among others.
