Deco outlined FC Barcelona's intentions for the winter transfer market. The sporting director assures that they do not plan to make any signings, although... they are not ruling it out either
In addition to discussing Eric García's contract renewal, Deco also addressed FC Barcelona's intentions for the upcoming winter transfer window. The sporting director of the Catalan team assured that no new signings are planned but did not rule them out either: "It's very difficult for things to happen in January. I don't think we need to sign anyone with the squad we have right now."
A statement that fits with Hansi Flick's approach, focused on continuity for the current squad and on recovering injured players for the second half of the season. However, Deco left open the possibility of signing in case of any unexpected departures
A winter transfer window with no significant sales or departures at Barça?
The sporting director also wanted to dispel speculation about possible departures. "Right now we don't foresee any departures in January, nor that of Ter Stegen," he explained
“When Ter Stegen is available, he will look for his opportunities and it will be the coach who decides” (DECO)
With these statements, Deco cools any rumors about the immediate future of the German goalkeeper for FC Barcelona. Ter Stegen, currently injured, continues to work on completing his recovery and returning to the team's dynamics
