Girona would be very interested in signing Mika Mármol, although the president of his club has already warned that they would only let him leave if his release clause is paid, and Barça owns 50% of a future sale
The talent drain at Unión Deportiva Las Palmas seems far from over. Now, after the departure of Alberto Moleiro to Villarreal CF, the next to leave could be central defender Mika Mármol, and FC Barcelona is rubbing its hands together at this possible sale.
According to the latest rumors, the defender would be close to leaving for Girona, as he would be positioned as one of the favorite players of the Catalan team's sporting director, Quique Cárcel.
The interest would not be in vain, since, for his part, the player would be very interested in changing scenery, since Las Palmas was relegated to the second division during the 2024/25 season.
Similarly, should the operation of the native of Terrasa materialize, there is talk of an amount that would be between 5 and 6 million euros.
Barça owns 50% of the rights to Mika Mármol
If Mika Mármol's departure is confirmed, Barça would receive half of the amount of the operation, since when the player left the Blaugrana team in the summer of 2022, they kept 50% of a future sale, in addition to a repurchase option.
Meanwhile, the other 50% belongs to the 'yellow' team. The performance of the 24-year-old center-back during the 2024/25 season would not only have interested Girona, as he was also linked with Espanyol and Roma in Serie A.
Only Las Palmas' position could prevent Mármol from leaving
Despite Girona's desire to acquire the services of the '3', the president of Las Palmas, Miguel Ángel Rámirez, commented a few weeks ago that the player will only leave if the team that wants him pays his release clause, which is valued at around 10 'kilos'.
"We are aware that there is interest from some club. If someone comes and deposits the 10 million, because UD Las Palmas is not going to forgive a euro in that aspect, then he will leave. But if not, Mika will play next season with us,” Ramirez pointed out.
The ex-Blaugrana is highly valued in the market, but his departure may have to be worked on more than expected if the board of his current team does not change its position.
Another detail to highlight is that it would be more convenient for Barça if a team pays the termination clause, since they would receive 5 million, while if Las Palmas let him leave for 5 or 6, the amount to be received would drop considerably.
