Barça is pushing for Sporting to sell Trincao

FC Barcelona wants to continue making money before the imminent opening of the summer transfer market. That is why the Catalan team would be pressing for Francisco Trincao (player of Sporting de Portugal) to leave in the form of a sale this summer, preferably to the Premier League.

In this sense, it is important to note that the Blaugrana team owns 50% of a future sale. Barcelona transferred Trincao in 2023 for 7 million euros.

In this way, given the alleged interest of several clubs in the right winger, according to recent rumors, Barça would like a move to take place as soon as possible, but Sporting would be opposed to this, since the player has become a fundamental part of the team.

The intention of 'the lions' would be to retain the native of Viana do Castelo, despite the fact that Jorge Mendes, the striker's agent, has apparently presented several forms of sale for the player, but these would not end up convincing the 'green and white' board.

How much money could Barça get from the sale of Trincao?

Francisco Trincao has a release clause that amounts to €80M, so if any team takes him out of the Lisbon team for that price, 40 'kilos' would enter Barça's coffers.

It is because of this possible scenario that Barcelona would be so interested in the player leaving Portugal. However, despite the good institutional relations that the Blaugrana have with Sporting, they would not be willing to give in to any request.

In this context, the Lisbon team would like to prevent its attack from ending up disarmed, since its center forward, Viktor Gyokeres, wants to leave the club during the summer market.

For its part, Barça would have informed Jorge Mendes to do everything possible so that the player changes his mind and thus receive a good part of the operation.

However, according to the Portuguese press, the '17' would prefer to continue in Portugal. In addition, Mendes and the Sporting board would have reached an agreement in principle for a contract extension until 2030 and a significant salary increase.

Manchester United, City and Bayern Munich are watching Trincao

Rumors suggest that the most interested from England are Manchester City, but especially United, since apparently Rúben Amorim, former coach of Sporting, would be delighted to have the services of a player like Francisco Trincao.

The player would also have aroused interest in Bayern Munich. Likewise, Trincao was also linked with Arsenal.
