Barça received an offer for Fermín López with an unexpected exchange. The answer was clear. Which player was included?
FC Barcelona has in Fermín López one of the most promising young talents of the moment. However, and despite possessing a top-level talent, he has not yet managed to consolidate himself as a starter in Hansi Flick's eleven.

Chelsea's interest in Fermín López is increasing

Now, the operation could go beyond a simple transfer. According to Mundo Deportivo, Chelsea would not only be considering paying for Fermín López, but would have put on the table a possible exchange: the player from Huelva would go to Stamford Bridge and, in return, Barcelona would receive Christopher Nkunku, a 27-year-old French striker with past experience at Paris Saint-Germain, RB Leipzig and the French national team.
From the Ciudad Condal, with all this, it seems that this proposal was rejected. Although the club is in search of offensive reinforcements, and Nkunku can act as both a center forward and a left winger —a position in which he was once considered for the Barça team—, the sports management did not consider it convenient to part with Fermín López.
The former Linares Deportivo player has proven to be a committed, intense footballer with great physical display, good technique, personality and a clear offensive vocation. With the goal always in mind, he does not hesitate to shoot when he detects the slightest space, becoming a constant resource in the Barça attack.
In addition, compared to Nkunku, the performance of Fermín López is not diminished, especially considering that the Frenchman acts further forward. Therefore, from the Barça club they determined that it is not a beneficial operation.
