Barça has Joan García and Szczesny as fixed options for their goal in 25/26. Therefore, the Barça board must resolve the departure of their other three goalkeepers
The signing of Joan García and the imminent renewal of Wojciech Szczesny clears up the doubts in FC Barcelona's goal for 2025/26. The Catalan goalkeeper will be a starter from day 1, with the experienced Pole as a substitute. In addition, Hansi Flick has Diego Kochen as a third alternative.
This scenario, however, forces the board to resolve the departures of three other goalkeepers this summer. The most complex case is that of Marc-André ter Stegen. The German has a contract until 2028 and his salary is around 7 million euros net per season.
In addition, the '1' had no intention of leaving, but the new scenario after the arrival of the former Espanyol goalkeeper forces him to change his plans. If the Mönchengladbach native wants to be a starter with his national team in the 2026 World Cup, he will have to look for a team.
Ter Stegen points to Galatasaray
In that sense, the latest information points to Ter Stegen's approach to Galatasaray. The Turkish team prioritizes the signing of an experienced goalkeeper to cover the loss of Fernando Muslera and the Barça captain would be the chosen one by coach Okan Buruk.
In Turkey, Marc-André would receive a salary similar to what he currently earns in Catalonia (about 5 'kilos' net per year) and would be guaranteed a starting position, as well as the possibility of playing in the Champions League qualifying round.
However, there are still several loose ends to be resolved between Barça and Galatasaray. The Catalans hope to receive compensation for the transfer of the 33-year-old goalkeeper, while the Ottoman team prefers a loan or to sign him with a letter of freedom.
Iñaki Peña hopes for an offer to stay in LaLiga
The case of Iñaki Peña is less complicated. The Alicante native made the decision to leave at the beginning of the year, after losing the starting position with Szczesny. As his contract ends in 2026, the club hopes to resolve his transfer for an amount close to 10 million euros.
For now, the possible destinations of the Spanish goalkeeper are Celta de Vigo, Valencia and Sevilla, although Galatasaray also has him in their sights if the negotiation with Ter Stegen fails. In his time with the first team, Iñaki has 11 clean sheets in 45 games in which he conceded 64 goals.
Astralaga will renew to go on loan

The third and last discard in the Barça goal would be Ander Astralaga. The 21-year-old goalkeeper renewed in 2023 until June 2026, with an option for another couple of years. According to 'Mundo Deportivo', Barça's idea is to activate this option before sending him on loan to another team, as the Basque player has a very interesting projection.
In 24/25 he played 18 games with the reserve team, with 5 clean sheets and 23 goals conceded. In addition, he was included in Hansi Flick's squad in 26 matches, although he has not yet made his debut with the first team.
