Pedro 'Dro' Fernández is one of FC Barcelona's 'gems' on the radar of several European giants. According to the latest information, the 17-year-old academy player is being targeted by Chelsea and Manchester City, both with intentions of putting money on the table for the Nigrán native in the upcoming winter transfer window.

Barça already ruled out sending Fermín López to Chelsea this summer, while City was also attentive to the future of Marc Casadó, although they ultimately did not submit any formal offer. Last season, in the Youth League, Dro scored 2 goals in 7 matches with Juliano Belletti's champion team.

How much is 'Dro' Fernández worth? This is what City and Chelsea would offer

Although the club has not yet revealed Dro's official clause value, some rumors suggest it is around 30 million euros. An affordable amount for City and Chelsea's finances, but high for a player who, beyond his interesting projection, is facing his first season with first-team dynamics.

In principle, the 'Citizens' and 'Blues' offers would be around 15-20 'kilos', provided that the left winger's performance in the first half of the season with Barça Atlètic is stellar. Even if his clause were indeed low, it would not be surprising if either club opted to pay it.

Especially Chelsea, a team that since the arrival of American magnate Todd Boehly has not stopped spending on reinforcements. The London club's squad has had up to 48 available players. For now, the number remains at 32, including former culé Marc Guiu.

Barça, for now, does not seem willing to sell Fernández. Firstly, because the club values his growth and, furthermore, Hansi Flick is counting on him for the first team. Not in vain, the youngster accumulated 79 minutes of action in the three preseason friendlies, scoring a goal against Vissel Kobe (1-3).

Barcelona expects to renew 'Dro' Fernández's contract soon

The Barcelona board is not taking any chances with Dro and is aiming for a renewal soon. The 17-year-old's contract expires in 2027, and his renewal would be signed for three or four more years, once the player turns 18 next January.

Fernández moved up to Cadete A in June 2023 and, a year later, to Juvenil A. Now, he aims to consolidate himself as an alternative for the first team while helping Barça Atlètic in the tough mission of returning to the Primera RFEF this season. In his first match in the fourth category of Spanish football, the Nigrán native started and played 76 minutes in the reserve team's 2-0 victory against Porreres.

In the league, the left winger has already been called up for the first three matchdays of the 25/26 season, although he has not yet played any official minutes.
