Liverpool begins its preseason awaiting offers for Luis Díaz. The Colombian does not rule out renewing, but remains attentive to an offer from Barça or Bayern. His asking price remains at €80M

Calendar of FC Barcelona

Luis Díaz has started preseason with Liverpool this week with a lot of uncertainty about his future. The Colombian remains attentive to the interest of FC Barcelona and Bayern Munich, with the Azulgrana option being the one that convinces him the most. However, the Catalans have not yet initiated contacts to sign him, unlike the 'Bavarian' team.

In Munich, according to the latest information, they would be willing to approach the 80 million euros that the Merseyside team demands to let go of the '7'. 'BILD' and 'SKY Sports' assure that the South American player has the 'Ok' from coach Vincent Kompany, although the first contact between the boards of both clubs was not positive.

Bayern's first offer was in the order of 55-60 'kilos', €15M below 'Lucho's' current valuation on Transfermarkt. The winger has a contract for three more years, a factor that gives the 'Reds' some advantage in the negotiations.

Liverpool, willing to negotiate Luis Díaz's asking price

Although the 'Reds' start from the intention of billing 80 'kilos' for the transfer of the Barrancas native, the asking price for the 28-year-old striker may drop to around €70-75M. Less than 70 million, however, they are not willing to accept at Anfield, as confirmed by portals such as 'The Athletic' and 'SKY' itself.

The club has resumed its normal activity in the market after ten days of mourning for the tragic death of Diogo Jota and, although the possibility of renewing Luis Díaz is still open, now the option of a transfer is much more feasible.

First, because the club is still not clear whether or not to adjust 'Lucho's' salary to what the player's environment is asking for. The need to adjust his salary is clear, since the South American player currently only earns 3.5 million gross per year. Liverpool's idea is to double these emoluments, but even so the '7' will still be very far from what players like Mohamed Salah (€22.5M) receive.

In addition, the 'Red' fans did not take well to 'Lucho's' absence at Jota's funeral, even more so when the winger attended an event with influencers from his country, in Barranquilla, on the same day as the former Portuguese player's funeral. This factor may further strain his relationship with the club before the start of 25/26.

In any case, Barça is clear about its financial ceiling for Díaz or any other striker this year. The Culés do not plan to spend more than 60 'kilos' on this operation, which seems to leave them behind in the 'race' with Bayern. The 'Bavarians', in addition to the 'coffee grower' footballer, also have Rafael Leao (Milan) and Christopher Nkunku (Chelsea) in their sights.

Luis Díaz, absent in the first summer friendly with Liverpool

Amid rumors about his possible departure, the 'Guajiro' was left without playing the first preseason friendly against Preston North End (1-3). Coach Arne Slot preserved most of his starters, including Van Dijk, Alisson, Mac Allister, Elliot and the newly arrived Florian Wirtz.

The central defender Ibrahima Konaté, who sounds like a possible reinforcement for Real Madrid, was also not called up. However, beyond the rumors about the departure of the Frenchman and the Colombian, the decision to leave them out of the first game of the summer had to do with physical precaution.

'Lucho', along with the bulk of the internationals, reported to training in the middle of the week. For the match against AC Milan on July 26 in Hong Kong, it is likely that Díaz will be a starter, as long as Bayern or Barça have not already closed his signing by then.
