Pau Víctor could take an unexpected turn in his future in the summer market. Although the player from Sant Cugat del Vallés has been mentioned as a possible reinforcement for several LaLiga clubs, his career now aims to continue in Portugal.

According to 'The Athletic', SC Braga has presented an offer of 12 million euros fixed plus another 3 'kilos' extra in variables for the 23-year-old forward. Hansi Flick is not counting on him for the 25/26 season, but he did not rule out taking him on the Asian tour while the '18' resolved his future with FC Barcelona.

However, the agreement between Braga and the Azulgrana team, according to the information leaked by journalist Pol Ballús, is very close to being closed. Only the player's 'Ok' would be missing, who hopes to reach a club where he has a good chance of being a starter.

Barça could earn more than expected with Pau Víctor

In principle, it was expected that Barça would accept a loan to speed up Víctor's departure. However, the need to raise funds led the board to prioritize a transfer in the order of 10 million. The forward still has a contract until 2029 and his termination clause is 100 M€.

Although he didn't count much for Flick in the 24/25 season, Pau showed his quality in the previous pre-season, scoring a couple of goals against Manchester City and Real Madrid. In the season he also added a couple of goals and an assist in just 379 minutes spread over 29 appearances.

Well, despite his little participation with the culés the previous year, there has been no shortage of offers for the '18' and, finally, Braga could contribute a more than acceptable figure to close his transfer. Víctor is listed for around 4 M€ in Transfermarkt, so earning up to 15 'kilos' for his transfer is excellent news.

In Spain, Betis, Celta, Sevilla and Valencia have been very interested in signing him, but only through a simple loan. The Catalan forward, before making the leap to the first team, scored 20 goals in 39 games with Barça Atlètic.

Girona will also earn a 'pinch' thanks to Pau Víctor

After his performance with the subsidiary, Barcelona agreed with Girona to transfer him for 2.7 million euros last summer. The 'albirrojos', however, reserved a percentage of his sports rights, distributed as follows:

  1. 50% of the forward's rights during the 2024/25 season
  2. 30% of the forward's rights during the 2025/26 season

In this way, Barça will be able to deposit 70% of Pau Víctor's transfer this summer into its coffers, while Girona will receive the remaining 30%. If the sale to Braga is confirmed, the culés would receive 8.4 'kilos', while the remaining 3.6 M€ would go to Montilivi

The remaining 3 M€ would also be distributed by way of variables. The 18-year-old player, beyond having the confidence of Hansi Flick, could not earn a fixed place in his rotation plan due to the tough competition in the Azulgrana squad.

Robert Lewandowski, with 42 goals, was untouchable throughout the course, while Ferran Torres, who also collaborated with 19 goals, established himself as a substitute for the Pole. For this reason, the '18' was condemned to a residual role, playing only a couple of games as a starter.

In addition, his time with the Azulgrana team was also marked by the controversy with his exclusion from the squad in January, along with Dani Olmo. LaLiga annulled the registration of both footballers alleging breaches by Barça of 'Fair Play', but finally the club obtained their federative licenses again after a ruling by the Higher Sports Council (CSD).

Thanks to this ruling, the club can now negotiate Víctor's transfer. In January there was speculation about his loan move to Betis, but Flick finally convinced him to stay. Will the player from Sant Cugat del Vallés be a starter in Portugal?
