Ter Stegen continues to attract clubs interested in signing him this summer. The '1' of Barça, waiting to define his future with the 'culés', sounds like a possible reinforcement for Chelsea or Manchester United

FC Barcelona has a meeting pending with Marc-André ter Stegen to resolve the terms of his departure. The German has been left without a place after the signing of Joan García, but still has three years of contract and a high salary that complicate the negotiation with other teams.

In addition, the '1' 'culé' does not want to leave, although he understands that the bet for García and the renewal of Szczesny relegate him to a tertiary role in a season prior to the 2026 World Cup. While the goalkeeper and the club smooth things over, the list of clubs interested in the player from Mönchengladbach grows.

The latest information points to Chelsea and Manchester United as possible destinations for Ter Stegen. Barça sees the possibility of negotiating a loan or transfer as remote and does not rule out offering the termination of the contract to the 33-year-old player, who currently earns around 14 million euros gross per year.

The case of the 'blue' team is the most striking. Although coach Enzo Maresca has ratified the Spaniard Robert Sánchez in the goal, the Italian wants to sign another goalkeeper to compete head-to-head for the starting position with the 27-year-old goalkeeper.

Chelsea wanted to go for Mike Maignan before traveling to the Club World Cup, but their offer was rejected by a Milan that asks for at least 30 'kilos' for the French goalkeeper.

On the contrary, Ter Stegen could even arrive at 'zero cost' or, failing that, for a lower price (around 10 million). Although the German comes from two seasons punished by physical problems, in his last performances in the Nations League he showed to be physically fit.

The London team also has the Danish Filip Jørgensen (ex Villarreal) in their squad, but it is likely that the 23-year-old goalkeeper will go on loan to another team this summer.

United would also go for Ter Stegen if they manage to let Onana leave

In the case of Manchester United, the possibility of going for Marc-André depends on the resolution of the future of André Onana. Rúben Amorim has the African goalkeeper, but prefers to incorporate another goalkeeper with better current form and/or experience.

The other option on the radar of the 'red devils' is the Italian Marco Carnesecchi. The Atalanta goalkeeper, however, would not arrive for less than 50 million euros. Those from Old Trafford already invested a similar amount in Onana, who only two years later has lowered his valuation on Transfermarkt to just 25 'kilos'.

The Cameroonian has a contract until 2028 and could go on loan, although his poor season with United does not help too much to find 'top' offers. For the club, in addition, it is difficult to find players who want to join their squad, since in 25/26 they will not play in European competitions.

This suggests that Ter Stegen, if he decides to go to England, will prioritize the option of Chelsea or a Manchester City that also has him on their radar. Lothar Matthäus himself, in fact, already recommended Pep Guardiola to consider the '1' of Barça for his team.
