Christensen stands firm: he only wants to play for Barça

Andreas Christensen's idea of continuing as a player for FC Barcelona does not seem to change, even if he does not have guaranteed minutes for the 2025/26 season. 

The Dane (with a contract until 2026) fully trusts his talent and believes that he can have an important role under the orders of Hansi Flick, for which he would have already rejected several offers.

It is worth remembering that muscle injuries and chronic discomfort conditioned the playing time (just 259 minutes) of the '15' during the past season, generating that from the club he began to be seen as a player to whom a way out had to be found.

However, in the preseason, the native defender from Lillerod has shown a totally positive attitude, in addition to showing himself comfortable in the training sessions, and has made clear his intention to regain prominence in the team.

Christensen closes ranks: he is not interested in any offer

In this sense, the defender does not care about any other destination. He is willing to stay at Barça no matter what, so he was not fazed by offers from England and Saudi football. Even AC Milan sounded out the center-back, but did not arouse interest in him, according to rumors.

Likewise, both Christensen and his family feel comfortable in Barcelona and this would also be influencing the player's refusal to change teams. However, Hansi Flick values the Dane's qualities, who he sees as having a good ball exit, as well as having a great aerial game and a lot of tactical intelligence.

The one who is most interested in the defender leaving the club is the sports management, since the player would be earning around 9 million euros per year. The Blaugrana entity wants to continue reducing its wage bill and the one they see best positioned to leave is Christensen.

It is important to mention that the club does not want to have players who only have one year left on their contract, so they must decide whether to offer an extension of the same, so that he does not leave for free next summer.

With Christensen, Barça boasts an elite defense

In the event that Andreas does not leave the club during this summer market, Barcelona, if the player remains healthy, will have five top-level center-backs for the 25/26 season.

Barça has its immovable pair of defenders, for now, which are Pau Cubarsí and Íñigo Martínez. In addition, there is also Ronald Araujo and, although in principle Eric García should be considered, the '24' would be about to become Jules Koundé's revulsive on the right side.
