Hansi Flick has already made it clear to Deco that, in his opinion, the Barça squad does not need any more reinforcements this summer. The 'culé' board, however, has not yet closed the market
FC Barcelona could rule out the arrival of more reinforcements in the remainder of the summer market. Although there are still four weeks left before the transfer window closes, Hansi Flick is very happy with the three signings made so far and has let the board know.
Deco joined the 'azulgrana' expedition in South Korea this week and has been able to talk at length with the coach about the final touches to the squad for 2025/26. Except for a couple more departures, Flick already has his base team and the necessary replacement, position by position, to fight for all the titles at stake next season.
Hansi Flick does not see it necessary, for now, to invest in more signings
Both the board and the coaching staff agreed to strengthen the attack with one or two more wingers, along with the arrival of another goalkeeper. Well, these needs have been covered with Joan García, Marcus Rashford and Roony Bardghji, three players who have left the coach quite satisfied in the first weeks of the pre-season.
The Catalan goalkeeper will be the owner of the goal at the start of 25/26 and, in his first appearances, although he has conceded three goals, he has shown glimpses of his good play with his feet and reflexes in one-on-one situations. Rashford and Bardghji, meanwhile, have contributed with an assist and a goal, respectively, looking very comfortable on the wings in the 4-2-3-1 scheme used by the German.
There was a lot of talk weeks ago about the possibility of going for another full-back, but the coaching staff has full confidence in Eric García and Gerard Martín as replacements for Jules Koundé and Alejandro Balde. In addition, both defenders are convinced to stay.
The player from Martorell, in fact, scored the first goal of the tour, while the '35' will soon have a first-team contract. Nor will it be necessary to go for another '9', since with Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres the team is confident of a production of 50 or more goals for the second consecutive season.
Barça, however, does not consider the 2025 transfer market closed
Beyond Hansi Flick's 'Ok' to the FC Barcelona squad, both Deco and Joan Laporta do not rule out making some other incorporation in the final stretch of the market. The priority, however, is to resolve the pending registrations, but also to speed up the departures of the fixed 'rejects' for the coaching staff.
For now, only Oriol Romeu and Iñaki Peña know they are sentenced. The midfielder did not travel to the Asian tour and is expected to terminate his contract shortly. The player from Alicante, meanwhile, has not played in Japan and Korea either, although Barça has not lost hope of making money with a sale for less than 10 million euros.
Héctor Fort and Andreas Christensen are also marked to leave, with the full-back having the fewest options to stay. With Eric García settled as a right-back, the '18' has no place in the coach's rotations. The Dane, however, can be important as a fourth centre-back, behind Pau Cubarsí, Iñigo Martínez and Ronald Araujo.
In any case, there is still enough time to negotiate with both defenders. The most complex case, without a doubt, is that of Marc-André ter Stegen. The German is also not in the coaching staff's plans, but his injury forces him to postpone his departure, at least until January. Of course, as long as the '1' gives the green light to negotiate with other teams once he receives medical discharge within three or four months.
