Luis Díaz is still waiting for a formal offer from Barça this summer. However, he is not closing the door to renewing with Liverpool, as his contract ends in 2026

Calendar of FC Barcelona

The future of Luis Díaz with Liverpool points to a possible renewal that may definitively close the doors of FC Barcelona to the Colombian forward. Although Deco himself recently admitted the culé's interest in the 28-year-old winger, the economic aspirations of those from Anfield Road are not within the reach of Catalan finances.

For Barça, the ideal is to invest a figure in the order of 60 million euros in another left winger, since in theory it will be a player whose starting position is not guaranteed. Raphinha (34 goals and 23 assists) did a brutal job in 24/25 and is expected to remain in Hansi Flick's scheme.

In addition, players like Dani Olmo (12G/7A) and Fermín López (8G/10A) responded well to the German's confidence as companions of the offensive trident formed by the Brazilian, Lamine Yamal and Robert Lewandowski.

Liverpool is clear: renewal or millionaire transfer with Luis Díaz

Similarly, media such as 'The Athletic' assure that, regardless of the signing of Florian Wirtz, the 'red' board does not plan to sell Luis Díaz this summer. At least not for an amount less than 80-85 million euros, a figure that Barça is not willing to assume.

In that sense, the player himself admitted that, although there has been contact with other clubs, he also keeps the door open to extending his contract with those from Merseyside, as long as his salary (around 3.5 'kilos' net per year) undergoes a considerable improvement.

"We are in contact with Liverpool because we are talking to clubs, it's normal, the market opens and we are trying to arrange what is best for us," began the 28-year-old winger.

In addition, he added: "If Liverpool makes me a good renewal or if I have to stay the two years I have left, I will be happy and content. It depends on them. I am here to decide what is best for my future."

For now, Barça is among the clubs that have contacted the Barrancas native, but there is still no positive response from Liverpool to an offer below 70 million euros. In addition to the azulgrana team, the Saudi Al Nassr is after the Colombian international, while the Catalans also have Marcus Rashford in their sights.

Luis Díaz will reappear with Colombia against Argentina

The Guajiro was absent with Colombia on Friday in the draw against Peru (0-0) due to suspension, but he will be able to reappear in the next match (early Wednesday morning in Spain) against Argentina.

The coffee-growing team is sixth in the CONMEBOL World Cup qualifier with 21 points, tied with Uruguay and three below Ecuador (second). However, it has accumulated four games without a victory and, if it falls in Buenos Aires, it could seriously complicate its direct qualification for the 2026 World Cup.

The tricolor has a 3-point advantage over Venezuela (seventh with 18 units), with three games remaining before the end of the qualifier, but has gone 5 games without winning. 'Lucho', for the moment, is co-leader in the classification of top scorers of the tournament, with 6 goals, the same as Leo Messi.

After the duel against Argentina, Díaz will go on vacation for approximately a month and a half, waiting to define his future. Will Barça be his new team in 25/26? At the moment, the culés have not made formal offers for any player, since they still do not have enough 'Fair Play' to amortize transfers.
