Gavi spoke about PSG's possible interest in signing him before the Spain-France match. For the Andalusian, his future at Barça does not admit any kind of doubt
Pablo Páez Gavira, Gavi, opened up about the rumors of a possible interest from Paris Saint-Germain in the upcoming summer market. The FC Barcelona midfielder, true to his custom, was blunt when referring to market rumors.
"It may be. And I understand people who may come to believe it, but it's not going to happen. I'm very calm. My dream and my mentality is to spend my entire career at Barça", the Andalusian began by saying in a chat with 'Mundo Deportivo'.
In turn, he added: "It is the club of my life and where I want to succeed. I don't want any other and I will give everything I can to make it possible". In 24/25, Gavi played a total of 42 matches (1,687 minutes), 19 of them as a starter, in which he scored 3 goals and provided 3 assists.
In addition, he recently renewed his contract until 2030, which ratified his commitment to the club. Despite being only 20 years old and missing almost an entire year due to injury, the '6' already has 153 official appearances with Barça and 5 official titles in his record.
Gavi, always grateful to Luis Enrique, but also to Hansi Flick
Beyond his commitment to Barça, the Azulgrana youth player did not skimp on praise for Luis Enrique, the brand new Champions League winner and the treble with PSG, the second treble in the Asturian's career after the one he won with the Culés in 2015.
"For me, he is the best. He is a number one, an outstanding player, both him and his staff. I am very happy for him. He was the one who gave me my debut in the National Team, against the European champion, Italy, in San Siro. I will never forget that day. And he had the guts to put me in, because everyone jumped on him. I am very happy for him and he deserves everything", commented the 20-year-old player.
'Lucho', in fact, was the one who decided to give him the '9' of the National Team, a number that he still retains in La Roja despite being an inside/winger. However, beyond his excellent relationship with the Spanish coach, Gavi remains convinced of staying at a Barça that, in 25/26, will once again fight for all the titles.
In that sense, he opened up about his relationship with Hansi Flick. Although it was a difficult season on a personal level, returning from a long injury, the '6' maintains a "very close relationship with the coach".
"I think it shows. But not only with me, but also with the whole team. He is a man who is always there for what you need and that is very important. I think it is part of what we have won this season", the Andalusian pointed out.
