Gonzalo García has been the sensation of Real Madrid in the Club World Cup, with 3 goals in 4 matches. However, the forward doesn't seem to have a place in the 'blanca' squad for the 25/26 season.
The Real Madrid is in the quarterfinals of the Club World Cup thanks to Gonzalo García's goals. The Castilla forward has been the team's '9' due to Kylian Mbappé's health problems and has responded to Xabi Alonso's confidence with 3 goals and 1 assist in 4 matches.
His was the winning goal against Juventus, a goal that allowed the 'Casa Blanca' to bill 22.8 million euros for getting among the best eight in the World Cup. The one from Taguatinga, on the other hand, barely accumulated 847 minutes of action spread over 37 matches in which, although he scored 7 goals, he showed that he still has a lot to improve to settle in the European elite.
The logical thing would be for Endrick to go out on loan for at least one year, but sending him to another LaLiga club does not convince Florentino Pérez. Now, with García scoring important goals, the panorama is much more complex for the club. The fans are asking to keep the youth player, but the expense for the South American was too high and his departure would confirm the failure of the board.
Gonzalo García's clause, affordable for the big clubs in the Premier League
For the moment, the Spanish forward has a contract until 2027. However, his termination clause is 50 million euros, an affordable price considering that his market value will probably exceed 10 'kilos' at the end of the Club World Cup. Hence, the most likely thing is that the club wants to renew him as soon as possible to update his clause.
Gonzalo is currently listed at around 8 M€ in Transfermarkt and the latest information points to the interest of at least two giants of the Premier League. One could be Arsenal, who have long been looking for a born '9' and, with Mikel Arteta on the bench, the 'gunners' prioritize incorporating Spanish players.
Another team that is always willing to open the checkbook, regardless of the number of players available in their squad, is Chelsea. The 'blue' team already signed Marc Guiu in 2024 and also has the Real Madrid youth player on their radar, although they currently have 44 players in their squad, 6 of them center forwards.
