Gyökeres challenges Sporting: he wants to force his departure to Arsenal

Total pulse between Gyökeres and Sporting due to Arsenal's interest. Imminent rupture?
The relationship between Viktor Gyökeres, an implacable 27-year-old Swedish goalscorer, and Sporting CP, the team that owns his rights until June 30, 2028, seems to be irremediably broken. Proof of this is that the Stockholm native has already given a clear sign of rebellion and his intentions to leave the current champion of the Primeira Liga in this summer market.

Rebellion in preseason: Gyökeres does not show up
According to reports, Gyökeres has no intention of reporting to preseason training with the Lisbon team, to which he was summoned, in principle, last Monday, July 7. However, Viktor would have received special permission from Sporting CP to join a few days later, specifically on Friday the 11th. Something that also did not end up happening, being one of the great absentees in the work session carried out at the Academia Cristiano, the 'verdiblancos' operations center.
With this pulse of the Nordic '9' against the 'Lions', who will play a series of 2025/26 preseason commitments from July 16 to 25 —in which they will face Celtic, Farense, Sunderland AFC and Villarreal CF—, his desire to no longer belong to Sporting CP is becoming increasingly evident. Not only that: beyond his intentions to leave, he would even have his favorite destination: Mikel Arteta's Arsenal.
Agreement stalled: Sporting asks for 80 M€
The 'Gunners' would have already reached a verbal agreement with the Swedish striker. However, the problem now lies in the position of the 'Lions', refusing to let Gyökeres go for less than 80 'kilos': 70 fixed plus 10 in variables.
A desire that would be in counterpart with the alleged pact that Viktor had with the Portuguese team, where his departure would be facilitated if an offer between 60-70 M€ arrived. An agreement that Frederico Varandas, president of Sporting CP, himself was in charge of publicly denying.
Sanction in sight? Gyökeres stands firm
Hence the reason for the position of the Swedish 'killer' who saw how, despite the fact that Arsenal apparently came with a proposal of around 65 M€ fixed plus 15 in variables, this would not have been accepted. A movement that is said to have generated the disappointment of Viktor and his reluctance to join the dynamics of Sporting CP, a team that, if the striker does not show up soon and does not give a justification for his absence, could declare him in default and apply an important sanction at an economic level.
Will the situation be resolved or unblocked soon? It is not known. What is clear is that the Gyökeres 'soap opera' is at its peak and without a clear solution.
