Harry Kane seems determined to extend his contract with Bayern, which ends in 2027. The Englishman is on Barça's radar, but no negotiations are underway yet
The German press points to the imminent renewal of Harry Kane with Bayern Munich. The English striker still has a contract until June 2027, but he has very interesting options to make the leap to another European giant next summer. One of the clubs interested in the 32-year-old footballer is FC Barcelona, although the Londoner, for now, is not giving any clues about his future.
However, sources like the newspaper 'BILD' assure that Bayern has well underway **the signing of Kane's new contract**. The Bavarian club does not want to risk letting their top scorer go for a reduced price next summer. Even less so if it means strengthening a potential direct rival in the Champions League like Barça.
Robert Lewandowski's move to the Blaugrana club in 2022 (for 45 million euros) did not sit well at the Allianz Arena. In this regard, knowing Barça's interest in signing a '9' for next season, Bayern has already closed the door on the former Tottenham striker, who has scored 113 goals in 119 official matches for Vincent Kompany's team.
Bayern 'secures' Harry Kane for the upcoming winter transfer window
According to 'BILD', Harry has an 'exit clause' that would allow him to negotiate with any club in the first half of 2026. This is in view of a potential transfer in the summer, once his participation with England in the World Cup concludes.
However, to activate this clause, Kane must notify the club during the upcoming month of January of his desire to leave. This is to give Bayern six months' notice to search for his replacement in the upcoming summer transfer window.
The English striker, for now, is only focused on performing at his best with his club and arriving in the best condition for what could be his last World Cup with England. Furthermore, the '9' feels comfortable in the team and has adapted wonderfully to German football.
Harry Kane's renewal could be agreed in early 2026
Although, for now, the parties seem to be taking negotiations calmly, Bayern's management hopes to extend the 'killer's' contract before the World Cup. Kompany considers him a key piece in his system, and the player's performance leaves no room for doubt. In 25/26, **Harry has accumulated 28 goals in 23 games**, currently leading the race for the 2026 Golden Boot with 17 goals
The possibility of returning to the Premier League, for now, doesn't seem to appeal to him. Nor does the option of jumping to another top European league, like LaLiga or Serie A. In any case, Kane prefers to wait until the summer to evaluate offers, but Bayern wants to finalize his future now.
Barcelona Still Unsure About Signing Another '9'
Barcelona, in turn, also prefers to wait until the final stretch of 25/26 to decide who will be their '9' next season. Lewandowski's contract ends in June and, for now, his departure seems likely, but not a done deal.
Ferran Torres, for his part, has one more year on his contract (2027) and is making merits to renew. Hansi Flick is satisfied with the 'Shark's' performance (he is the team's top scorer with 13 goals), but still trusts in 'Lewy's' contribution and the results they can both deliver competing head-to-head for a starting spot.In addition to Harry Kane, Barça is closely monitoring **Julián Álvarez**, despite his dip in form in recent months, as well as the Cameroonian Karl Etta Eyong. The board, however, leans towards signing a more experienced forward, with 'La Araña' being the best-valued option for now, despite the complexity of negotiating with Atlético.
