Rumors about the possible signing of Dusan Vlahovic are growing in Italy. Media outlets like 'La Gazetta dello Sport' place Barça as the first option for Juventus's number 9, whose contract ends in June
Dusan Vlahovic continues to be strongly rumored on FC Barcelona's radar. The Serbian's contract with Juventus ends on June 30th and he has already ruled out renewing with the 'Old Lady', meaning he is completely free to negotiate with any club starting now. In Italy, they claim the Serbian would lean towards a Blaugrana offer for next summer.
Media outlets like 'La Gazzetta dello Sport' place Barça at the forefront of the 'race' for the 25-year-old forward, **who has scored 113 goals in 270 Serie A matches with Juve (64) and Fiorentina (49)**. Vlahovic, for now, is still recovering from a left adductor injury that required surgery in November and will keep him out of action until at least the end of March.
Meanwhile, the Belgrade native is advancing contacts with several teams in search of a contract perhaps a bit lower than the one he signed with Juventus in 2022. Dusan currently earns around 22 million euros gross per year and, if he ends up signing for Barça, he would surely see his salary drastically reduced.
Barça's Reasons for Considering the Signing of Dusan Vlahovic
However, the possibility of signing for one of the best clubs in the world and trying his luck in LaLiga undoubtedly seduces the Serbian footballer. **The Juventus '9' arrived in Italy in 2018 from Partizan**, his boyhood club, and the 'azzurri' press believes the player prefers a change of scenery next summer, once the World Cup is over.
In Catalonia, Vlahovic would arrive to take the place that Robert Lewandowski will leave, provided that the Barcelona team finally decides against renewing the Polish player. 'Lewy' scored his ninth goal of the season on Saturday against Espanyol (0-2), but his performance remains far from his usual level and, added to his very high salary (26 million gross) and age (38), it seems destined for him to leave in June.
Dusan, however, would have to compete for a spot with **Ferran Torres**, who is set to renew with Barça soon after a notable first half of the season. **'El Tiburón' has scored 13 goals, 11 of them in La Liga**, and although his contract runs until 2027, the club seems determined to secure his continuity in the coming months
Given his characteristics, Vlahovic would have no problem adapting to Hansi Flick's system. He is a classic center forward, imposing in aerial duels and with a good shot from the edge of the box. Although he doesn't have as much mobility as Ferran, he is a natural '9' who is usually lethal inside the box, even though his records with Juve have been discreet in the last two seasons.
Milan and Bayern, Barcelona's main rivals in the race for Vlahovic
The 25-year-old forward scored 17 goals in 44 games last season and 18 goals in 38 games in 23/24. This season, before getting injured, he scored 6 goals in 17 appearances for the 'bianconeri' side, in addition to providing a couple of assists. **His personal best so far was 29 goals in 22/23**, 20 of them in the first half, still with Fiorentina.
In addition to Barcelona, 'La Gazzetta dello Sport' also lists AC Milan and Bayern Munich as possible destinations for Vlahovic. The 'Rossoneri', with Massimiliano Allegri on the bench, only have Christopher Nkunku as a reliable long-term option, as Mexican Santiago Giménez will likely leave in the summer and German Niclas Füllkrug will only be on loan until June.
Bayern, for their part, hope to soon renew Harry Kane's contract, but they need to sign another '9' in case the English goalscorer decides to leave for another club in 2027. For now, Nicolas Jackson is the only alternative to Kane, but the Senegalese will return to Chelsea after a disappointing loan spell.
